Peter Sciortino's Bakery

When I come to Sciortino’s bakery and am greeted by the Vella’s (first generation Sicily Americans) I feel like I am back in Palermo buying wonderful Italian bread and pastries. The cookies and Biscotti are true Italian products made in Milwaukee. The cannoli is made fresh, as they should be and as they are in Sicily. My diet goes to heck every time I walk into this authentic Italian bakery.

Normally, I wouldn’t rate if it wasn’t good. I try to follow the principle if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything and I like to support small businesses. However, this truly was the worst Bavarian donut I’ve ever eaten. It was stale, the cream was chunky (curdled). Either the donut was a day or two old or they truly don’t know how to bake. It was not only a waste of calories but there is no need to ever go back. I’m not sure how they receive any 5 star ratings.

Best Italian Bread in Milwaukee. Perfect crunch and flavor...Many other good Bakers in and around town that have Very Good Bread. But this is the best IMO. Excellent Italian cookies as well. Everything is super fresh.

I went in here to buy a bunch of bakery and deli and the woman helping every two minutes asked me can I help you. I felt rushed! Just let me look for awhile! I also went here one time about a half hour before closing time and wanted to purchase some deli meat and cheese. I was told that it was closed. Why was the deli closed when the rest of the store was open? Your losing business because of this!

The BEST Italian bakery in the state . Great selection. And the cannolis are awesome . A huge assortment of Italian cookies .The customer service is great always a smiley face to greet you. I have been a customer for four decades.

Nothing that I have had here warrants all their accolades. However nothing is exactly terrible either. It's just a bunch of safe pastries. I guess this is okay for anyone who's not looking to take risks in trying something new. The staff is extremely friendly and always give great service with a smile.

Good cookies. One of the local paper had hyped this place as having the best cream puffs. They were good... If say this is a neighborhood gem, not a city gem.

One of the best bakeries in Wisconsin. Would come up from Kenosha when I was little to get their delicious treats. Definitely a Milwaukee staple. You have to come early if you want the good stuff though because supply goes FAST

Cannolli, bread, and cookies never fail to hit the sweet tooth. Even when the store looks packed, you can be sure they know how to get you what you want, treat you well, and give you all the attention you need without feeling like you are rushed.
