Peno's Mediterranean Grill

Fast, friendly service, and the food is made fresh. Their hummus with warm grilled pita, especially the jalapeño cilantro, is awesome. Be aware the gyro beef/lamb is not cut fresh off a spit; instead, it is in chunks and grilled for a little char. Still very good though, and no place in Myrtle Beach has a spit that I've been able to find. Great place for a light lunch or dinner.

A little confusing. It's called Peño, but doesn't have spicy food. Its Mediterranean food that's theme is friends, food, music, but they dont seem to have any particular music? Seasonal hummus was good and so was the lamb/beef gyro. Chicken was a little dry

The food was tasty and seasoned perfectly. The ingredients were fresh and varied and really brought the dishes together. Loved the hummus and tatziki sauce. The price was reasonable especially considering the portions of lamb and beef. The staff was extremely friendly and food was ready for take out in less than 15 minutes.The reason this is not a 5 star review is that the baba ghanoush had something in it that was so terribly charred that it literally tasted like soot. Maybe this was just an oversight during preparation. Despite that one flaw, not to mention the waste of money on the baba ghanoush, I would still recommend this as a great place for lunch.
