The sandwiches here are AMAZING. There's a shaded outdoor seating area just across the street where you will also find some of the old milk delivery trucks when this place was still a creamery. In fact, if you don't little digging there's a lot of interesting history tied to this place and the history of downtown Palo Alto.

Best place to grab a great sandwich, burger, Chili, milk shake, ice cream etc. I love the patty melt it's simple and amazing. Butter toasted sourdough, American cheese, grilled onions and a perfect burger. Stop by and you won't be disappointed.

Been here a few times. A bit over priced, but honestly in Palo Alto what’re you going to do about it? They have smallish water glasses and often don’t come in time to refill. I asked for the pitcher, and they said no because they worried about customers spilling on the floor. Valid point, just wish they’d watch the water glass levels more often then. Other than that food is good. Great place to grab some comfort food

A true hidden gem. Every item on the entire menu is good. Give it a shot at lunch!

Neat little very casual classic 50's diner. Don't think health food here.

Came here for breakfast. The baked goods were amazing — we had a heated blueberry muffin. The rest of food average to below average breakfast food, at 2.5x the price of restaurants outside Palo Alto. Coffee was almost $4, and the staff was really slow to refill.

My burger was average. The ice cream is from Oregon, and it’s good but not remarkable. (Try Marianne’s in Santa Cruz instead or Salt N Straw nearby.) I think people come because downtown Palo Alto is very expensive, and you can still find an affordable meal at the diner-style setting here. (March 2019)

Milkshakes. You really don't need to get anything else. I love the chocolate milkshake with added banana or the coffee-flavored one. They are mostly gluten-free, I think. Oh the strawberry one is excellent, too. You can buy little bags of tokens as a gift for friends that are fans of the milkshakes. I wish I was still running so that I could have one every week.
