Very tasty, very spicy and very pricey. I would go here only once in a year.

We were so impressed by how flavorful and delicious the food was. It was even better that it was all organic and many dishes are vegan. The owner was very nice and made great recommendations.We ordered the special, a squash curry, and the vegetable side dish combo with a cauliflower curry, a sweet eggplant dish, leek coconut dish, and kale salad. Everything thing was so yummy.

Delicious food. A bit pricey for the amount you get, but it's all organic, so I understand why.

Oh where to begin. Small beach town atmosphere, lovely mild mannered staff, beautiful décor, and delicious food. Party of 4 is about $40. Please tip your server well and be kind. Have fun!

Very good food. I am not a huge fan of curries, but the lamb curry was delicious. All organic, not that it mattered we to me. The mango alnond side dish was delicious. The house special "red pearl" wine was worth it. Recommended!

Dining at 'Pearl of the Ocean' was an absolute treat. The space is quaint and thoughtfully decorated, but didn't make me feel like it was too crowded or gawdy. The customer service is good, with the waiter being attentive and cordial. The owner came out to say hello, which was a much appreciated personal touch. The thing that really stood out (as it should be) was the food. I ordered the three-entree dish and my dining companion ordered the two-entree dish, and needless to say, we were both floored by the flavors and the presentation of the cuisine. It really shows that it was truly made with care and skill. I will definitely be returning to this establishment the next time I am in the area and in the mood for high quality, delicious vegetarian food.

Tried Pearl of the Ocean for the first time last night. One of the best meals I've had in Santa Cruz. Everything was absolutely delicious and spiced to perfection.

Delicious and flavorful fresh food with varied menu choices including vegan, vegetarian, meat and fish. Wait staff were very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant was clean . Ambiance could use a makeover, but should not be a reason to give this gem a try. There are many unique and flavorful choices that are well worth a spot on your foodie list.

Very vegan/vegetarian friendly! Almost everything is vegan and the meat dishes are clearly marked. Tried the lunch combo plate - favorite item is the Eggplant Moju. Dhal and papadum helped tame the (very) Spicy Potatoes. Wasn't crowded at lunch so food was ready when I arrived for pickup.
