The staff is very rude and they refuse to speak English to most people, the place is filthy and looks like the floor hasn't been swept in a few weeks.I won't be going back to this hamburger place again, there are too many great places in the city

The grilled Michigan dog was one of the best hot dogs I have ever had anywhere. Highly recommended along with the Phil's grilled. I would go again and again and having tried the steamed, the grilled would be my choice. No issues with language so unsure what some of the other reviewers experienced.

Really really good place for burgers and fries. Service is always excellent and extremely quick.Try the "zeke". 2 grill cheese sandwiches as buns holding together a nice patty.

Down to earth and authentic cases croute. Progress is often looked at as a good thing... But in the case of the philippe, this place is lost in time, and any visit is like going back to the day when Philippse just opened... Reliable burgers and dogs... Good fries too...

Don't let the "divy-hole-in-the-wall" decor get to you. This place has been around forever and what this place is, is a burgers and fries place and that's it. Thing is they don't do it well, they go above and beyond by grinding their own chuck every morning and kicking you in the teeth with a burger-gasm. It's right up there with Restaurant Grégoire in Mercier. It's the burger that burger dreams are made of. Seriously GO. EAT. NOW.The fries are also top notch. The rings, though frozen, are still awesome and to top it off they haz Stewart's soft drinks. And all this is some cheap eats to. Wam bam thank you mam.

As far as quality /price Chez Philippe has the best hamburger in Montreal - no doubt. I've been to burger bars all over montreal, doesn't come close to this place. The best hamburger in Montreal!!
