Food good, beer cold. Had to stand in line awhile to order but didn't take long to get it. Place has been around 90 years. Originally a bakery. Has great poorboy's and such. Children welcomed. Don't want to eat and just have a couple of drinks, there is a bar attached. Really crowded most of the time. If your not in a big hurry it's a good place to go. Staff is friendly and busy always. I'd recommend the place to anyone

As a New Orleans native, this is absolutely the BEST place in town for an authentic poboy! The fried shrimp poboy(dressed) is the best, nothing on the menu is bad, the entire place feels like home

If anyone knows me they know I love this sandwich shop. It reminds me of growing up when I would go to my favorite neighborhood sandwich shops around the New Orleans area. The Surf-N-Turf should be illegal it's so good. Also the shrimp poboy and roast beef are just as great as stand alone sandwiches. Every time I come back home this is the second place I go after I drop off my luggage :D. I hope they will be around for the next 300 years at least.

This place is popping not just with shrimp po boys but the crowd. Make sure to get their before lunch starts if want a table inside. The food is incredible. Worth the price for the first poor boys created in NO.

Very cool spot. Little crowded but once you stand in line to get your food -they have a back patio with a lot of seating. For the humor, guest give fake names when ordering. The staff pronounce it over the intercom so you get a lot of good laughs. I think one guy’s name was “Bye Felicia” 🕺👋🤓 As far as the food goes- you won’t be disappointed, it’s better than 5 stars and genuine New Orleans food with a sprinkle of soul. Can’t go wrong visiting this authentic Nola eatery.

Exactly what you want when you are craving a po' boy. Fresh, crusty bread and generous fillings. My favorite is the surf and turf with shrimp and roast beef. Order a drink at the bar while you wait in line and life is perfect.

One of my favorite places to eat in New Orleans. Their poboys are best around. My go to is the hot sausage link - dressed. I'm not that big of fan of sweet potato fries, but theirs are the best. I've been going for years and the service is always top notch.

This is an iconic eatery in New Orleans. It's a block from Bayou St. John. The Poboys are the best in the city, especially the Roast Beef. They also have a must try Roast Turkey and Smoked Sausage Gumbo. A fifth star would come with more comfortable seating. The food and service are 5 star.

Roast beef poboy.....not much flavor here. It was sloppy but not good. Used to be much better.

Setting the bar for traditional poor boy sandwiches. Just drove in from Texas and Parkway was our first stop in New Orleans. I had the shrimp poor boy. You specify whole or half portion and dressed or undressed (with or without lettuce and tomato) then stop at the sauce bar for mayo, tartar ...and then enjoy. The French Bread is crunchy on the outside, warm and chewy inside. The shrimp overflow and they are fried to perfection in a light cornmeal batter. Abita Amber was a great beer to accompany this meal.

I love the food here, I go each time I visit New Orleans, but the lines are to long, and it takes to long after you order to get your food, by the time you get get your food it's not hot, you pretty much need to take it home and warm it up, which is what we have done. I would like to get my food hot one day so I can really tell how amazing it might be.

Researched on Google Maps for a restaurant to get Po Boy sandwiches and this place had great reviews. Unfortunately, I tried the local favorite of surf and turf and should have just gotten one or the other. The juices from the turf made the shrimp pieces soggy. Didn't help that it sat for a few minutes in the sealed wrapper as I waited. Bread was just ok considering they are also a bakery. Flavor was good overall, but there are better options around.

A must do when in town. Never disappoints and always has you leaving happy. Great ambiance and energy all over. It hasn’t changed much over the years, only small changes that have made the facilities that much better. The Roast beef Pinot is outstanding, but of course so is the shrimp, and everything else they have. One of my favorites is the bread pudding, just make sure it’s hot. About the only complaint I could think of is one time getting the bread pudding cold. Easy fix to have them warm it up. Make sure and come a bit early to beat the dinner rush, because it can be a beast.

It's very tight quarters on the patio. If it's crowded, i doubt other guests would want to be up close to your dog. Use good judgement!
