First of all I am not Puerto Rican. Although, I have eaten in Puerto Rico. That being said the place has a really great looking atmosphere. They get close to authentic as possible. There are no bottomless drinks except water. There are no local juices as well. They do have alcohol. The food was ok. We started off with Pastelitos which tasted of chicken that was a little dry. We had chicken and rice as well as chicken stew. Both plates hardly had any meat in them which was the sad thing because it did not taste bad.

This place is great and the people are super friendly. I am not a Mofongo fan but my wife is and loves how they make it. Extremely limited PR food choices in the area so nice to have this restaurant around.

First place, the food was DELICIOUS! It felt like I was eating in Puerto Rico. Decorations on point....the experience very Puerto Rican. However, there are some things that could be improved so that this restaurant makes it to the top! If they want to keep the current first order then sit-type set up, another 2 cashiers would be great during busy times. Another 2 waitresses would be helpful during busy times. Because of their popularity, they should have a "chef's special" each day to avoid running out of food or up their supply. Otherwise the waitresses were really nice and cordial. There's also a slow leak in the back corner that needs to be addressed.

First visit and I'm very pleased. Wasn't so thrilled with the ordering system being that you have to order first then sit. If it's not a long line that is fine but when there is a crowd the wait could be cumbersome. But...the food was absolutely delicious. My hubby ordered steak with the pigeon peas and rice. That rice had so much FLAVOR. Yassss! I had the arroz con pollo which was also delicious even though the chicken was a bit dry. That happens a lot with chicken breast so they may have to try and figure out how to get juicier chicken. The empanadas were also good. That dough was crispy and flaky and the flavor on point.

Negative 1: As a Puerto Rican, I'm utterly disappointed. This pastel was dry, bland, and burnt. Management should improve their services and food soon; if they plan on staying in business.

The food is so good!!! I'm dreaming of that sweet rice dessert still yum yum yum My bf is Dominican and was craving food from back home. This is such a wonderful place to get authentic Caribbean food. Everything we had was delicious and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. We will definitely be back!

If you are looking for a GREAT Puerto Rican restaurant this is the place to go! I went here with my parents after passing by one day and the food is delicious, full of flavor, and the chef and her family are so sweet! The pastelón exceeded all expectations, the chicharrón when fresh out the kitchen has the best flavor, and the tres leches is thick and the best tres leches around Charlotte! I would have taken photos of the food but I got too distracted eating it that I forgot. If you are looking for that homemade taste but a lively and fun environment to enjoy try out Papi’s!

I love this place! I'm from Miami, FL, and was hardcore missing Puerto Rican food; this place hits the spot! Inside the restaurant makes me feel like I'm in PR! The Staff are lovely too! Plus, this spot has some of the best Mofongo I've had hands down! Muy deliciosa!

We can honestly say we loved the food. There pros as well as minor cons so be patient with me lol. Service: amazing service, all smiles, we were asked by the owner how was our experience. Without hesitation she listened. Food: Flavorful (some minor suggestions) The escaveche and ensalada de papa could do better with not being so cold. But I loved the escaveche. The pastelillos de carne were amazing and so full of flavor. The relleno de papa, the meat was great just needs a little more flavor on the shell area. The pepper steak was just sooooo good NO COMPLAINS. Another hit with us was the sorullos. I ordered more to go as well as the pastelillos. The coquito shot was good too. And the amarillos were on point. So all in all our experience was great and we would return. Honestly I can't complain for the majority of the dining experience was really good. And yes I am 🇵🇷 and this is as authentic as anyone would ever want.
