Me and my husband got a mentaiko onigiri and a tuna onigiri, and the filling was tiny! I understand that they are less than $2, but it was disappointing. Their bread was not bad, but not that memorable either.

Great small eatery offering made to order hot Japanese dishes as well as pre-made bento boxes if you happen to be on the go. The real draw is the bakery portion though where most of the pastries have a Japanese twist and you can't help but want to buy the whole display. There is indoor seating as well as some limited outdoor seating. Cute spot to check out especially if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of nearby St. Marks.

Friendly staff tasty danishes Got the blueberry oneIt was crunchy but it didnt fall apart filling had hints of lemon juice and cinnamon Blueberries were fresh and were not mushy I can easily eat 3 and not feel guilty bout it----------------------------- The Salmon Bento 10$ boxes should be called Rice Bento because theyre 80% rice. Would I come here again when im tired of mexican food and this is close and convenient from where I work? Well.. yes lol

This is a great Japanese bakery if you want to get a snack or a birthday cake for someone. My favorite dessert items are the green tea tiramisu and the strawberry shortcake. The prices are decent and the staff are really friendly. They also have bento boxes and Japanese snacks for purchase.

Clean, quick and tasty - Pan Ya has a small but strong selection of Japanese pastries and prepared bento boxes that are great for a fast lunch or snack.

Wow, I LOVED the strawberry shortcake and it reminded me of the ones I had in Japan! Highly recommend this place just for that cake. The seating is limited and crowded, so be aware. Prices are a little expensive for me personally just because these are considered cheap Japanese food, but hey it’s NYC. No wifi btw, so it’s just a yummy place that’s best for to go.

Used to come here all the time to pick up a snack between class. Pretty unique selection of pastries and they're all pretty big in size. You have the standard pastries like almond and chocolate croissants but also pastries filled with beans or sweet potato mash ;) Prices are very reasonable. People also come to buy bread a lot, and they have a variety of Japanese snacks, sushi and udon. Place is small though so recommend take out.

I usually always go to this place until now... they just let someone cut my line just because they both speak Spanish ... that messed up... racist people shouldn't work in a Japanese bakery...

Their onigiri is so good and affordable! Really nice selection of both to-go and cooked meals, as well as great pastries and deserts. They make a really good cup of hot cocoa too.

The worker here was extremely rude to me, I have no idea why. I walked in the store and she yelled at me to ask what I wanted and then when I was paying she proceeded to call me trash when I didn't hear her mention the 10 dollar card minimum and asked for clarification. Extremely bizarre experience.

I got the yakisoba with pork and green tea au pain. The yakisoba was street level food at street food prices. The au pain was quite disappointing -- the texture was crusty, like it had been sitting there for a bit. Maybe it's just how it's stored in the displays? 🤷🏻‍♂️I would come back for cheap eats. Maybe I just had the wrong expectations this first time.

This place is so good. Their cookie custard buns are my favorite!
