Really good Latin American food! Saw the reviews and thought I’d give it a try and was not disappointed! The chicken skewers would have been better if they used chicken thigh instead of chicken breast but it was only when compared to the other great dishes that it wasn’t as good. Really enjoyed the belly pork, palm heart and the trout. Would come back again for sure!

Laidback place with rather spartan interiors. Focus is on the food, very well-cooked food. Best were the very very good starters, or nibbles as they’re called. Next visit is likely to be “tapas style”, nibbles all the way! Well made cocktails and nice wines as well. Definitely coming back for more!

Update on 15 May: The owner kindly provided complimentary dishes, a bottle of wine, and a profuse apology, based on my flagging my experience in my original review. To reflect the is outreach, and because the food is genuinely quite good, I have bumped up the rating from one to three stars, and will definitely visit them in person once restaurants have re-opened.I had food ordered from them last Friday on their post-lockdown reopening. I appreciate that there were unforeseen hitches but I ordered my food at 5.25 and received it 2 and a half hours later, with no real apology or suitable explanation. The food itself was decent, but the lack of communication and remorse from the restaurant means that I will not be giving them another chance. I would give zero stars if I could.

Paladar is a vibrant Latin Amercian Restaurant in London, just a short stroll from Elephant & Castle. The celebration and love of Latin American flavours means there are some wonderful flavour combinations paired with great quality ingredients. Make sure you get the Purple corn churros with chocolate and ancho chili sauce and coffee dulce de leche!

I've visted Paladar three times now, and each time has been thoroughly enjoyable. A warm welcome, great drinks menu, exciting Latin American cuisine, and interesting art and cultural events. I especially like the open kitchen and the large common table (the bodega) in the side room. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner. Prawns and tuna for starters, two types of pork for main - a very nicely cooked steak and a lovely slow cooked casserole dish. All excellent. Very prompt and efficient service and a pleasant ambience. Nice beers and a lovely dessert wine, Torrontes from Argentina to accompany our ice creams. Lovely.

Food was excellent. If the prices were lower, it would become our regular local eatery. Dishes are quite small. Definitely £££3 Chicken skewers £17.50Single octopus tentacle £19.50 (pix below)

Nice food, great staff.Went in a larger group for lunch and we had a mix of things. Couldn't really fault any dish, we really enjoyed them, but the highlights were the octopus and the confit pork.Service was quick and fun, helped by the fact that it wasn't too busy.2 portions per person seems about right if you pick well, as some dishes were quite small (but priced accordingly).

Excellent Latin American sharing platter type food! Wine was very good as well, and the service was warm, friendly and impeccable. Very nice place to have a dinner if you're local to the area.

I took my partner here for our anniversary and he loved it. The food is small plates tapas style. lovely service and atmosphere. Lots of varying ingredients and flavours. The seafood was a lot better, especially the cerviche with lemon grass and passion fruit! The meats were a little on the touch and chewy side. There presentation of the food was beautiful. Cocktails were lovely even the non-alcoholic options.

The food here is amazing. Good for anyone with gluten intolerance or coeliac as all the food is gluten free. Lovely helpful staff too. Booking is necessary as this little gem is very busy
