Y'all if you don't have anything else on the menu, order the hush puppies. The praline butter that comes with them is otherworldly. I guarantee that butter would make cardboard a gourmet meal. It will make your tongue beat your brains out for another bite. The hush puppies are amazing as well. The oysters were very fresh and ice cold on the halfshell. If you like oysters then this place will satisfy your every whim. There was nothing we ate while visiting that was bad. The seafood paella was awesome and the keylime pie was very close to the best I have ever had. The patio is a very cool spot to eat and hang out with friends. The staff was super courteous and helpful. They answered all our questions and provided us with suggestions. Check them out when in downtown Charleston, you will be glad you did.

I was visiting Charleston to celebrate my aunts birthday and she wanted to stop at Oyster House Seafood after we had visited the marketplace! Again... I'm not a fan of seafood... But I'm always down for appetizers and drinks! They ordered a round of Bloody Mary oyster shots... with Bloody Mary's! I got a drink called Pom fizz that was absolutely delicious! We also got a few appetizers of oysters and cheese balls... I didnt try the oysters but the cheese balls and hushpuppies were great! I'm giving such a high rating because we had an amazing time and had a very cute waiter!😉👌🏽

Best Oysters ever had. The waiter was very knowledgeable, knew all the flavor profiles in the raw oysters. He made wonderful recommendations through out the meal. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a date night or a dinner with coworkers.

It was my first time in Charleston, and my family definitely made the right choice visiting this restaurant. Quality seafood that left me feeling like I had something fresh and representative of the area. If you're ever in Charleston I would recommend visiting this restaurant.

We're out-of-towners from NJ and were looking for a place good for kids. We also wanted a taste of Southern food and this place checked both those boxes. I had the Shrimp and Grits and my wife had the fried oyster sandwich with brussel sprouts (you get to pick a side). My 3 year old had the popcorn shrimp off the kids menu. We shared the hushpuppies as an app. Everything was excellent. Also, pretty good selection of local beers. The atmosphere was fun. Good music in the background which my son was dancing to. Staff was very friendly as well. Definitely will come back next time we're in SC!

The Oyster House does not disappoint. Located right by the downtown Market, it can get busy but we got seats immediately. Outdoor seating is available and they have a huge bar too. I tired the St James river oysters ($1.49) which were sweet, plump and just a touch of brine. At Happy Hour you can get "a buck a shuck" deal too. I also tried the she-crab soup and seafood platter ($20). Delicious. Cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go back and try more oysters and other dishes.

Their happy hour special is beyond worthit! I had 3 dozen for about 36.00 and none were gritty. They were almost sweet, an amazing twist! Service was great. If I had to be picky, there was no close parking.

Really good service and food. We had the shrimp poboy with oyster slider, fish taco, and street corn. Plus a sampler of the oysters. The oysters were fresh and very tasty. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. We do back if we visit again.

Nice calm atmosphere. Service was great from beginning to end. Corwin was awesome. Definitely will be coming back again. Seafood was fresh and not overly battered like you get at some other restaurants.

Stopped in for some appetizers and drinks after walking through the market. Pleasantly surprised at the variety of appetizers they offer and their quality. Very good food and service. Best hushpuppies we had on our whole vacation. Very good beer list as well. Outdoor seating area is nice with fans on every table. Clean bathrooms!
