Just got lunch and it was great! Erin was especially helpful with the order! Nothing like a steak for lunch :)

My 1st time eating at any outback restaurant. Our waitress was very nice an very attentive. The place was very nice an clean. Our food was very good and lots of it, so much I got a to-go plate an brought the rest home. Will be eating here again!

Questions & Answers

Typically it's because there is not a server scheduled yet for those tables. Each server will get 2-4 tables. If they have 5 servers there's 20 tables or about 80 people that can be served in a given time. If the restaurant expects only 80 people to show up but instead 100 show up, there may be both empty tables and a wait time.

Here today and it's not too busy and wait times are very short

There is no server for those tables, that is why they aren't seating you there, because if they did seat you there nothing would happen and no one would come. One might think, why wouldn't they just let people sit in the open tables and have someone take care of them there? Sections of tables are assigned to each server so that they do not become overloaded and can provide a certain level of service to everyone, giving the server more tables then they can handle cheats them of the opportunity to make money as they work for tips and need to provide good service and it cheats the customers that are seated in assigned sections of the dining experience they waited for... restaurants want to sell you food, and the servers only make money by having satisfied tipping customers. There is an hour wait time because all of the people who are currently eating and arrived prior to you deserve the chance to dine there as well... and if there are only six empty tables they sound pretty packed
