O'Rourke's Public House

Fun place with a good beer menu and food. Though to be fair we only tried the pretzel bites (just weren’t that hungry) but the service was fast, friendly and attentive even though there were busy. Lots of staff to help keep the customers happy and management was around to make sure things went smooth. It is loud as some of the other reviews have said. The two bars with TVs above each made out visit enjoyable. Just a cool place to come and grab a drink something to eat and relax for a bit. Definitely would go back.

Food and service pretty consistent. Wish they served treal brewed ice tea instead of tap.

Excellent food! The Blarney (Reuben sandwich) is delicious. Fries are great. Salad was beyond tasty. Our waitress was friendly and competent. Loved the rustic atmosphere. Great first visit! The only drawback was am excessively loud group of kids, seated in close proximity to us, but this was not the fault of the restaurant...the adults present could have required them to keep it to a dull roar...lol. Nonetheless, we will definitely return to try other entrees.

Nice atmosphere. Great location. Phenomenal fish and chips. Terrible service. I saw the server when we placed our order and when our food was dropped off. No check in, no refills, no removal of empty dishes. She couldn't even be bothered to bring our check. We had to flag down another server so we could leave.

Lots of beers on tap. Food is pretty good. They have a limited late night menu. Music. Close to Notre Dame

Disappointed with the meals my wife and I had today, Bangers and Mash and Beef Stew...it appeared that they had been warmed up in a microwave as they arrived at our table barely 5 minutes after we ordered.Beef stew of the thirteen or so pieces of beef ? 9 were just pure fat` and left on a side plate! No check in from the waitress to ask the food was OK ? Just picked up the Credit card and returned it at that time I said the Beef stew was mostly fat and my wife could not eat it, she did ask why I had not said anything to which I said she kept rushing off!! Did not seem to be interested! Will not be eating there anytime soon!! The real problem for me was the place was virtually empty when we ate The one star I gave was for the outstanding beer they serve!!

Am 100% sure I reviewed this place a couple yrs ago. The review is gone, so here is the recap.This place is cursed for food quality. I have eaten here 3 times and its been mediocre at best. Fish and chips were just meh, nothing to get excited about. The house burger was fair..not great but not a total loss. Ive had the Blarney- which is a Reuben and it was not very good. I have not experienced truly bad service regularly, however it has never been memorably good/ positive either. I live in South Bend..so I get it-- Eddy St Commons allows mediocrity to survive on Domer tourism.tl;dr Have the beer, skip the food.

Very nice servers. Guinness is on tap and delicious. The chips are very good. Wings are half price on Sunday. Plenty of TVs beers on tap. Live music on Saturdays.

Great spot for lunch. Got a great meal for a good price. Went back to work feeling great!

The waitress was really nice, but they were out of a lot of their beers. My friends were not impressed with the Scottish Eggs that they ordered. It's a college type bar, so there's a college crowd. They had dance music on Friday night, which is fun, but the music is plenty loud, so harder to have conversations.

Delicious food!! Inviting atmosphere!! Service was ok.

First time having food in this establishment. Was excited to try their food. Very large portions. I couldn't eat it all. Unfortunately, within an hour after eating I became very ill. I ended up throwing out the rest of the food for fear it was food poisoning. No one else in our group of 20 got sick so not sure what it was that irritated me.

It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that we had been seated. Also the taps were broken.

A great pub and sports bar. Amazing burgers and Irish dishes. Nice choice of beer on draft
