Went to Mel's for the first time in a couple of years on a Tuesday evening. Very few customers. We ordered a breakfast for our gluten free family member, as they have no gluten free options for dinner. Grandchild ordered the mac and cheese. Grandma ordered the battered cod. On the plus side, the breakfast was prepared almost perfectly and they placed the biscuit in a separate box to take home. The battered cod was good and the veggies were very good. The coleslaw tasted wilted and expired and side salad used very pale lettuce. Our dirty plates were never cleared, so we resorted to stacking them to make room for our to go boxes of leftover cornbread. Overall, I feel that their menu is too extensive to have fresh ingredients for every item when there are so few patrons. The wait staff seems inexperienced. I will be only returning for breakfast in the future.

Another fun throw back experience (not to be confused with throw up). Good 50s food, friendly happy days service. Feel good place with table jukeboxes. We like the Reuben among others on big menu. Not to be confused withMels Diner chain, also good

A good classic diner. Glad these are still around. Overall good experience for the type of establishment it is. If you want quicker and cheaper go to Jack-in-the-box. If you want a nicer higher quality breakfast then go find some hipster brunch place where they charge 12 dollars for avacado toast. Again this place is good for what it is.

I have a 1yr old and it's a great positive environment to bring him to. Not alot of restaurants tolerate bringing little ones into these days but this place is very accommodating. Plus the food never disappoints and the staff always friendly.

This new place is really great, last time I was at this location it was Coco's. The original Mel's Diner is a great place to eat and this is a second location that I have dined at which is just as good as the other in Brentwood California

A normal Mel's Diner. Except this one had the music dialed down a bit, which was more to my liking. (Maybe because it was late-ish?) The food was was good, and the service was excellent.

The several times that I have eaten here I have found that Rose and Patty have been delightful, personable and helpful. They are very attentive, refilling your coffee and checking on you. Jay is a Warrior at making sure that tables are clean including the seats and floor. He is always moving getting things taken care of. This day my husband had steak and eggs, he love it. Steak cooked to perfection. I had a waffle with eggs and bacon. Yummy. Their coffee whether regular or decaf has so much flavor and is semi-strong, it's really good, you don't need sugar or cream.

This is my favorite place to go because I like the counter. Most ppl sit at the booths. Food always good. Big parking lot with a view of San Pablo Bay and Mt. Tam. The staff have always been good.

Love love love this place. The service could be a tad better at times but it's not a deal breaker for me. I usually order Alice's Western Omelet and it's always on point. My husband normally orders their sandwiches which he enjoys, but he did mention that the chicken on the club sandwich was a bit dry and a very thick cut which he didn't enjoy. We've ordered their shakes and those are really good.
