Opa! Opa! Authentic Greek Restaurant

This small authentic Greek restaurant is the way to go in Gulf gate.I have not been able to make it past the gyro because they are that fantastic! The tzatziki sauce is fresh. The spanakopita is a large portion and is quite nice. I also like to indulge in the Greek fries. You may also get takeout. The staff is friendly and the service is quite fast. The pricing is accurate for the portion size and the quality and freshness of food. Opa! Opa!

I was searching for a restaurant that was small and not noisy. Conversation is often so difficult in so many of our restaurants here in Sarasota. I had my birthday at Opa Opa. We were 14 people which is open difficult for a small intimate space. The owner was delightful, and he took it on his own to decorated the tables and brought in an extra server. The food was so delicious and the service was delightful. I would definitely go back.

Very nice and friendly server. We had the fried eggplant with cheese to start. I almost couldn't finish because the eggplant was so shocked in oil, which tasted and smelled rancid 😣 i don't think they have changed their deep fryer oil in months! Very disappointing. Then we had a Greek salad which was ok. Couldn't really taste the dressing. The Mediterranean chicken and rice was not what I was expecting. Just chicken breast cubed and pan fried with chopped tomatoes. For the price I was expecting a little more.

Loved this little treasure!! We made a reservation for 4 and changed it at the last minute to add a friend- very accommodating! Sybil took very good care of us and the food was AMAZING- will go back again with more friends!!

Awesome. I had the lamb shoulder steak,and will get it again. Very authentic Greek food. It's so much more than just gyros.

This is a really great place. The food and service is absolutely superb! The gyro is the best I've ever had hands down. I definitely plan on returning to try more of their fabulous menu. Thank you Sybil for the phenomenal service!

This place is delicious and super authentic. Real Greek food not trucker stop greek food. Owner is fantastic and can make some really great dishes.

Far exceeded expectations. A delicious feast. Obviously, the person in the kitchen has a gift.We shared a rack of lamb and a grilled fish.I imagine everything on the menu is good. It's that kind of place. Yum!

they have two different greek salads. they will admit that the descriptions are inaccuratte and misleading. the only difference is one does not come with lettuce. we ordered greek salads with gyro meat. we left feeling very unsatisfied. The gyro meat is very good. the baklava is home made and wonderful. They should have taken something off of the bill. I will not come back

Food was good, service could have been friendlier.

Place was delicious. However customer service lacked. We took our friends out to eat and we paid for the entire meal which was 60 and we didn't have enough to tip and she complained stating we shouldn't go out to eat if we couldn't tip and she preceded on being rude. I was a waitress you don't treat guests like this even with no tip. I hope she finds peace within herself. Blessed be.
