Come in early to avoid a huge waiting line. The udon itself is very chewy (al dente) and the soup base is thickly flavored with bonito. The restaurant was packed, and the food was served fast for quick turnover. Try it!

They close after lunch and reopen at 5. I dropped by at 5 thinking we could get seated right away. Little did I know people more clever than I got there far earlier. There was quite a line but it was worth it. Tsukemen is my favorite ramen style and this stuff was great. The other ramen was also very good, both broths so rich and flavorful.

Line moves fairly fast. They also have some of the friendliest servers. I got the tsukemen with cold noodles and my girlfriend got the spicy tontori. Recommend to get both if you’re new. We both absolutely loved it! It is a bit on the pricey side for $20 a bowl but I would definitely come back again. Only con: wish the tsukemen came with egg without having to add it.

I love dipping ramen and this was amazing, finished all the noodles which is rare for me!

The service was fantastic, the lady in the front was extremely nice and organized. You order by scanning a qr in front and then they bring your food. The food was fantastic. I got the spicy dipping ramen and was very happy with it. The restaurant itself was a bit crowded but, I didn't feel claustrophobic.

The service was phenomenal. I appreciated the simplicity of being able to order and pay on my phone and the food coming to my assigned seat within 10 mins of payment. My only criticism is that the broth could have been hotter since the noodles are served cool or warm.

The ramen menu and ramen themselves, at their NYC location, is very simple. A very small selection which I didn't expect since when we went to their website it takes you to their Georgia locations by default that have WAY MORE food options (so so so jealous). So we were a bit disappointed after scanning our QR code to order to see limited options... And they still made me happy. If you have a small menu you better make the best version of that and their ramen knocked it out. I think their broth put to shame most other ramen houses around. Thick, creamy and chock full of flavor. Not salty at all. Keep in mind you'll definitely need to add Toppings to make this a complete meal as I had gotten the kaedama, but still worth it.

Tontori was top 3 ramen I’ve had in NYC. Rich, creamy broth without being too oily or fatty. Good bite to the thin noodles (similar to Ippudo) and leaner pork chashu.

Perhaps my favorite meal I have had in some time. The tsukemen has a deep, rich flavor. Definitely a must try. 😋🍜

A busy restaurant with a small menu generally bodes well. That goes for this spot- you pretty much have 5 items to choose from, and I got the basic Tonkatsu ramen. Everything about it was delicious - from the ramen to the broth to the melt in your mouth tender chashu. We lucked out and snagged one of the last two spots at 6:30 on a Wednesday- the line started to grow after that.

This is one of the few authentic Japanese noodle joints in NYC - rich but not greasy broth, al dente noodles, and best of all, melt-in-your-mouth pork belly. While this place has tsukemen in its name, I fell in love with the spicy tonkatsu ramen (note that the spice is much milder than Ichiran). My partner loved the tsukemen though, so try both if you can! Don't grief yourself like we did by ordering extra chicken... pork belly ALL THE WAY. My partner and I came at 6pm on a drizzling Thursday and only waited outside for 10 minutes. Weather aside, the line moves quickly because service is fast - you scan a QR to order & pay, then your food comes and you scarf it down and leave. This place is perfect for individuals due to the bar seating (lots of open single seats), not so great for groups of 3+ who are hoping to chit-chat over a slow meal.

Had their Tsukemen Dipping ramen. Amazing flavors and will def return. Super easy to order, sit down, scan and order from your phone. I was prob in and out under 30-35 minutes (party of 2). Note: I arrived at 5 pm on the dot on a Saturday and still waited at least 20 minutes for a table. They pump people on and out pretty quick so it’s honestly not that bad of a wait. They have a worker to be outside to manage the line.

This is the best tsukemen in New York. There is a wait, but it's efficient and the staff do everything they can to accommodate guests. I love the open kitchen and being able to watch the noodles being made. They noodles are the star and the way they pick up the wonderful broth. Definitely get the soup add on at the end. I don't always do it at other places but this was great

Extremely tasty rich (yet doesn’t leave you feeling heavy) ramen broth. Noodles were thin! Everything was on point including the very kind and friendly staff. Was an experience. 5/5.

I waited in the freezing rain for this place and was not disappointed. Did I feel rushed while eating? A little. Was the menu super limited? Yes. But that's because you can focus on 1-2 things when you do them very well. If you want a whole ramen experience and to take your time eating.. go to Tonchin! This was special. Can't wait to go back. On warmer, dryer day.
