The MBA's ruined a great New York hotel. Food overpriced and carelessly served. But guess theycan get away with it as the Saudis who now own the rooms upstairs often eat their fish eggs in their rooms. The Oak Bar, once a great New York happening is dead. How sad! Drive by in the evening and there are more lights in a mausoleum.

Was the food good, yes...am I running back there no. Not sure if that helps but it should at least get you in the door to check it out at least once for yourself.

A New York classic.

This location has been closed for five years, according to hotel staff. What I'm curious about is when I called the number listed and made a reservation, nobody thought to check if I meant the location in the Plaza or the Oak Room across town. So we showed up at the hotel and were told it was only open for events. We weren't referred to another location either. Very frustrating.

not accommodating to vegetarians, even after calling ahead of time. dish we ordered was not the dish served and the new dish wasn't explained. highly overpriced for something that could be made at home for less than $5. the room was breathtaking...if only everything else followed suit.

I should walk in there wearing a dirty bathrobe, a Cubs hat, a pair of purple Walmart sandals and an AC/DC t-shirt. I think I will and have a friend film me and put it on YouTube.
