NuVegan Cafe

First my **one and only** negative point, the line can move slowly. Absolutely positively every other thing you can imagine is incredible! There is a wonderfully huge selection of hot dishes to chose from cafeteria style. The same with cold dishes. Every single one I have tried is perfectly done! Favorites include the chicken drummies, collard greens and especially the cabbage! The cabbage reminds me of cabbage dishes at Ethiopian restaurants, which is high praise from me!The smoothies are fantastic as well as the cheesecakes and cinnamon rolls. But beware that they seem to run out of desserts sometimes. They offer delivery and that worked great every time I've utilized it. Five star rating all-the-way!!!

One of my favorite places in the city to eat... I love it even more now because the day we went the restaurant was closed due to issues with the electricity BUT they had the food truck out front and the food was still fantastic!! They had a line of people who were just as excited to see them as I was 😂. Great vegan food selection & awesome customer service 👌🏾

Dang, this is the perfect place to get great food and it's all vegan.Loved the chicken-n-fries, the thai curry tofu, their Mac-N-Cheese(!!) and breakfast platter. Good stuff! Wish they hadn't run out of almond smoothies though. I can't take soy.

Super affordable vegan food. HUGE PORTIONS. The Mac is life changing.

I have to eat here every time I visit the DMV area. Just recently visited the one in Richmond, Va. and loved that one as well!! Anything Nu Vegan is a must try!!

This place is great!!!! Friendly and helpful staff. They let you sample the food before you buy it. Huge selection of all vegan foods. Great quality and care in the food they prepare. Plus you get big portions of food. So great value for what you pay. Prices are reasonable. Food is Absolutely delicious. My family took me there for a late mother's day luncheon as I am Vegan and I was so pleased with this place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NuVegan!!!! I'll definitely come back again. Look at the cheese steak sub, ribs with Mac n cheese and collard greens, crab cake with black beans and the fried chicken we got. So so delicious!!!

This place exceeded my expectations. The food was sooo good and the customer service is outstanding. I'm not vegan but they make me want to try it out. They should make a cookbook. That's how good it was. I'll def be back. The only minor complaint I have is that it was cold in there and they had fans going.

Best damn restaurant in DC. Drove an hour and half to try it and I'm in love. Food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. The menu was explained which was helpful to myself and my family. Definitely, worth the drive and I'll take that drive again.

This place is great! I love the options. I always get the drummies and sweet kale salad with a smoothie. So yummy!

Nice chill spot and place to grab vegan food. Parking sucks. Hadn't been there in a while, they've changed food containers. Everything put in a separate container, which doesn't bother me. Went around 2ish so the lunch rush was over. Food was fresh and customer service was good.

The food is so good you overlook that you didn't know to walk to the back room to order it, that you have to pay in the front room before they'll begin making it, or that how to get a drink is unclear. The black bean burger is insanely good. Same for the tofu avocado sandwich. Will go back and explore the menu. No parking. Staff is friendly.

This place is awesome! After hearing rave reviews for months, I moved to the neighborhood recently and I had to check it out. I had the BBQ ribs, I was literally licking my fingers. Super friendly, unpretentious folks, and the food is...amazing. Incredibly flavorful, reasonably priced, great variety. It's going to be a struggle not to come here every day.

Best vegan soul food spot. Chicken drummies, chicken sandwich, and Mac and cheese is flawless.

Great variety of food but TONS OF PLASTIC WASTE! They serve food in heat-proof plastic containers even to dine in so make sure to ask for a reusable plate or for your sandwich to be wrapped in paper instead. They do have silverware and box water. Big portions! Photo of the fish sandwich

The chicken tenders tasted delicious like sumptuous meat, the barbecue sauce was yummy, and collard greens tender like the ones I had in New Orleans years ago
