WOW. One of the best meals I’ve ever had, truly. The food was unique and incredible, and the staff was so kind and seemed to be having a good time with each other. Get the tots!!!

The building was very unassuming but the food and wine was all delicious. Incredible staff too. Fun little date night spot.

Nice spin on some Japanese traditional foods. Meant to be shared, they are small plates. I thought it was a little pricey for the size of the selections. They had an online only order system that seemed to work pretty well, however, no real way to review the total of what you ordered. Also, anyone at the table can use the phone to order. So, with multiple people ordering it becomes quite chaotic. I didn’t like this arrangement. In the end it cost $176 for two people to eat enough to get full. While I enjoyed the experience, it was hardly worth what we paid. This is close to the price of a high end steak house. Likely won’t return. Just not good value for the money.

Glad I found this restaurant! It’s a cozy atmosphere. To order your food & drinks, you need to scan the QR code and do so online. I ordered the ginger fried chicken which comes with ahi poke, rice, potato salad, & pickled cucumber. It was delicious. It was also a lot of food! I’m like a 3-course person so I’ll always order my appetizer, main course & dessert. But they warned me that it’ll be a lot of food and they were right. I was full - I had to take home food. But I couldn’t leave without having dessert 😅 I tried their deconstructed take on lemon meringue pie & I enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be back for poke & sashimi. The tuna was suuuper fresh! Best I’ve had here!

Great experience and food. The team at Nami Kaze is wonderful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The food is inventive and focuses on high-quality and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. We really enjoyed the bok choy, tots, seared ahi, and hamachi roll. Try the shiso sour patch sorbet for dessert - it’s unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Would love to come back the next time we’re in Honolulu!

I was hesitant about posting this review as it is contrary to what others have posted. Many have posted the place was clean, had a great atmosphere and service. I agree with that. However, I do not agree on the rating of the food. Let me preface this by saying I am a regular Joe and not a foodie. I don't use trendy words like umami. I use salty, sweet, bitter... I know they were nominated for a James Beard, but I also did not like another James Beard nominee here. I was invited to dinner at Nami Kaze and was expecting okazuya style food. They started out in 2022 with take out okazuya food. I was surprised to see none of that on the menu. Instead it was Asian fusion food. Hmmm, the other James Beard nominee I did not like served Asian fusion as well. I like my food traditional American, Italian, Thai, Japanese, French... Food was ordered and the presentation was simple and elegant. The taste was different. I am not known as an adventurous eater, but I gave it a try. The corn beignets were my favorite (no sauce please). The tofu was a little on the salty side, and the pork belly had that old pork taste, but it was very tender. The sashimi was...sashimi. It was fresh, but it better be with the fish auction across the driveway! The plate had about 12 slices of different sashimi. The price was about double what you would pay at a sushi restaurant All in all, a different experience at Nami Kaze than others have had. The most appealing dishes to me were on the kid's menu. Different strokes for different folks.

We went for dinner and were blown away by the food and service. We sat at the sushi counter, which was fun to see the food being cooked. We had a few plates but the Spanish octopus, prawns, ahi, and bpk copy were so good. This was seriously such a good experience. At the end we were surprised by an anniversary dessert and dome Yuzu sorbet. It was incredible. I wish we were here for longer because we would come back! Next time!

We LOVE this place! Our waiter was knowledgeable, all the staff was super friendly, even though it was the end of their shift on Christmas and they sat us last minute. The food and saké was nothing short of extraordinarily satisfying. We will absolutely be back.

The hamachi crudo was excellent, the marinated eggplant was forgettable, the avocado and zucchini on toast was okay and I forget what the steamed egg dish was. We were there at 11:30 with plenty of seating available. The A/C was too cold (no complimentary hot tea?). The wait staff was good but the price was too high for a meal that was not too filling. I may not have ordered the right dishes but at those prices, everything should be memorable.

Great food, service, and atmosphere!!

Everything is beyond my expectations. Hamachi on yuzu was nice touch. Even plain beggies were perfectly done! Pork belly was amazing!!! We are here now and will be coming back shortly 😎

Phenomenal. The black cod, kampachi , and Hamachi dishes were stars but the rest were good. Basically ordered everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. One of the best food experiences I’ve had.
