Nice matcha parfait, there is a version only available at this store that was a nice combination of green tea flavour and textures. Outdoor seating available with space heaters provided during winter.

Better go before the shop's open (better arrive at around 09:30 and it will be 35 minutes wait). If you arrive after 10:00 (when the shop opens)then it's very likely you will have to wait for more than an hour.BTW the interior is superb and the matcha is amazing and overwhelmingly good-smelling

Amazing, you may have to wait for a table but the garden views are beautiful. Tea was incredible and the food was amazing too.

Very nice food especially during the summer, there’s a long queue if you arrive in the afternoon. Do remember to write your name in the queue list and wait for your name to be called. There’s seats and it’s all shaded.

As a matcha lover, I feel like I’m in heaven here!!!!! I ordered heaps of food because I only stayed here for a day but they don’t allow me to takeaway. Sad to see the food waste though...

It's easier to be seated if you come before 11 am. Honten (本店) has its own menu and special items, among them, some are seasonal-finite.

Their matcha parfait was absolutely delicious. Layers of Matcha ice cream, red bean, malt flavoured cream, matcha jelly, roasted rice puff, matcha cake and lemon jam all balanced so well, each spoonful is like a orchestra played in your mouth. The warabi Mochi is also a delectable treat as well. Sticky, chewy in texture and served with matcha syrup and brown sugar syrup.Irresistible and went the second time to try the Houjicha parfait and it was very delicious too. Although I prefer the matcha ones better. Although it has a long queue, the service is still friendly. Absolutely a tea dessert heaven!

Came here just for the wheat noodles and warabi mochi(limited servings). The matcha financier was great too. Highly recommend!

Best place for matcha lover. We tried almost all the star food even the matcha udon. We will definitely revisit. The location is easily accessible which 10min walk from the train station of Uji.

We joined "tea ceremony experience" it was so great! (4400 yen per person) There was a master to introduce tea ceremony traditions and showed us the decorations of the Japanese new year. Although their English is not perfect but you can still understand most of the details. We got to try the making of tea power (Macha) and to be the guest of a traditional tea ceremony where the master will demonstrate and being dead serious to perform the tea making. I like this part most, the environment the room the atmosphere is just a very good experience for you to feel how the old Japanese samerai, emporer enjoy this art.
