Good things first: Service, atmosphere, desserts and cucumber lemonade were really good here. However, I went there in the expectation to find a place that still has a strong Chinese bond and is inspired by the real deal. For me many of the interpretations had a very American touch, in particular I did not enjoy that many foods were very greasy, e.g. the duck kebab or the Gyoza. Not a bad experience per se but also not worth the hype.

Visiting Boston for four days, this was my favorite restaurant. Menu options were inventive and delicious. Severs were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is casual and engaging (music selection was excellent). I would recommend a visit to anyone, and I will return when I'm in the area again.

I admire this spot! They give splendid dishes, they have a nice menu, The chef in that spot is a real authority in the kitchen, I like very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the service towards the visitors is very good too. I frequently visit this place and I was never discontended. I recommend it to all.

If you are looking for a “contemporary†asian place this one’s for you. Tried the Bloodlust margarita which was pretty good. Also, ordered the crispy spring rolls that were good but I’m more into pork spring rolls rather than veggie ones. The pork belly buns were yummy and the Surf+turf black pepper Shanghai noodles were actually good but a lil’ spicy. If you like spicy, go for it!

Great Chinese food with a unique take on many dishes. Everything we ordered tasted like nothing we've ever had, all in a good way. If you're in the SOWA area and are in the mood for great Chinese, this is a great option. It's middle of the road in terms of price. If it's a weekend or popular dinner time you may need a reservation.

The food is very good, fresh and tasty. Servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is very good. Always crowded so make a reservation before you head out to this place.

This place is like Alden & Harlow for American Chinese food, which is great, every thing we ordered tonight was excellent, but I particularly recommend the wok charred udon noodles, they were the highlight of the night

The atmosphere, service and the food is great. We were able to get metered parking across the street. We ordered from the vegetarian/vegan menu. Everything was fresh and delicious! It is brought to the table as it's cooked and perfect for sharing. The balance of each dish was perfect: the sesame cucumbers (with a hint of heat), the ginger-garlic fried rice (flavors weren't muddled as fried rice can sometimes be) and the crispy spring rolls (tasted fresh and not frozen like most other places). The Pineapple Express cocktail was small, tasty and strong. Definitely worth the our trip into Boston.I'd recommend getting reservation.

We had a great time here. Vegetarian options were very tasty. If you are there try and get seat at the bar by the open kitchen. We enjoyed how carefully and skillfully eat dish was made. Highly recommended if you are in Boston Metro area.

Given how far in advance one needs to make a reservation and the number of five star reviews, I had high expectations. It was fine--I won't be raving about the food, but won't be denigrating it either. "Standard good" comes to mind.

Fun, very good, great spot. A little expensive, but to be expected.

If I could rate 6/5, I would. It's an amazing experience, great service and fantastic food. I sat at the bar and had great conversation with one of the chefs. I ordered half orders of the eggplant, longevity noodles, and scallion pancake, and I couldn't be happier. I took home about half of the food and I'm excited for the leftovers. Highly recommend

Wonderful place. Good and varied menu. Sharing options as well as small plates to sample their cousine. Special attention to the wok fried dishes and dumplings and equivalents.
