Muyuri Indian Bistro

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to! The food tastes great. The lamb was tender and the curry sauces were amazing. The lunch specials are a really good deal and contain a good amount of food. Sadly, I don’t live around here to visit again soon, but I’d definitely visit again next time I pass through the area.

Very good when you actually sit in the restaurant, the staff is really nice but I do take out almost every time. Lunch Buffet is hit or miss, there’s others in the area that are way better. They don’t refill it often (had multiple times where they had something I wanted but it never got refilled the whole time) and some things get cold. Very disappointing in the spice/heat department, they were awesome when they first opened but they flopped. Every time I order “extra spicy” the guy chuckles like ohhh extra spicy huh, and every single time but once was it so mild I could’ve given it to my 2 year old.

The Waterbury area has a lot of great restaurants - mostly Italian - but my friend and I have always been disappointed in the Indian cuisine in the area - until now. We have eaten at the best Indian restaurants in London, New York, New Haven - and Muyuri is of equal quality. The word is getting out - when this restaurant first opened it was empty - there is now sometimes a wait for a table on the weekends. We're glad to see they are doing well and hopefully will survive. It is small, casual, BYOB - but the food and service is excellent.
