Great experience. Good food. Worth the wait. Must do in Savannah

It was a year ago today that I had my first taste of deliciousness at this restaurant. It was so awesome we went again the next day. Well worth the 6 hour drive and over night stay.

WOW... is all I can say! I was a bit apprehensive when I first learned of this establishment. The wait... (1.5hrs) is totally worth it. The service was A-1, food taste great, atmosphere is all about family and friends. No sooner than a dish became empty, other full hot dish was replacing it. Man this place will be revisited upon my return to Savannah.

The family style dining is a unique experience. There is a wide variety of food on the table and it is all delicious. The fried chicken is amazing. No credit or debit cards accepted.

You never go away hungry. Great selection of southern dishes served family style. Best fried chicken ever.

Spectacular dining experience. Long line is worth it. Endless delicious food. We did feel a bit rushed once we finally got in and were eating. Wonderful hard working staff and personal greeting from owner of restaurant and home. A must in Savannah.

Shockingly, this place is not overrated. Fantastic food, great staff. Admittedly it's almost more about the entire experience than it is about the food, but the food is amazing. The fried chicken is as good as any I've had, and we loved the sides and getting to know the people we shared a table with.

Biscuits are to die for. Fried chicken better than your mama makes. So many side dishes (but only one that stood out was the delicious yams). Definitely an experience. Prepare to stand outside waiting for a seat, and bring cash!

This is one of the best places to eat in all the south. Variety is incredible and the food is more than outstanding.

Dining at Mrs. Wilkes was such a fun and delicious experience! Prepare to wait in line and plan to arrive at 10:00am for the first seating at 11:00am. The food was excellent - true southern fried chicken, collard greens, biscuits, etc. served family style. A must stop while you’re in Savannah!

There aren't too many "touristy" places that locals will visit, but Mrs. Wilkes is definitely one of them. Not only do you get to eat your fill of great food, you also get to meet interesting people as you share a family-style meal (a rarity in this day and age). Mrs. Wilkes is truely a special place.

The food was awesome!!! I enjoyed the casual dining atmosphere and the friendliness and politeness of the staff. There was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. They only serve from 11 am-2pm. Don’t be late.

Definitely a place you have to try. Make sure you show up early and get in line. The place opens at 11 so try to be there around 10 or a little after. It’s usually always s line for the first seating. The whole experience was a beautiful one. The staff were all so very friendly. The food was definitely on point. Great southern cooking all around. This is a great restaurant. Family owned and serving hundreds a day. Best fried chicken anywhere hands down. Creamed corn, pasta salad and biscuits were awesome! Unless you are there at 9:30am for the 11am opening, expect a 2-hour wait any day. But eventhough they say they close at 2 pm, they say they will feed everyone in line. Totally worth the wait!

Worth the wait! Family style dishes waiting on the table for you once you sit down! Everything was delicious. Came here with a group of 12 and everyone was happy with the meal! Friendly staff. Bring water if you're standing on line in the heat!
