This place is a Detroit classic. I would say that you should visit here at least once if you’re a Detroit area resident. If you’re traveling through, it’s a safe excellent place to stop by and grab a pizza and a beer. The beer here is brewed in-house with a great flavor and wonderful taste. The pizza is spot on. Having made pizzas for a job in my past, that means something. It’s great food. The brick oven chili and crab dip are phenomenal. I’d recommend getting everything you can eat. Be sure to ask your waiter or waitress to help decide, they’re friendly and sincere. You won’t be disappointed.

The food was amazing. Seated immediately. Good drinks. Would have loved to have stayed longer but it was unbearably hot! They need to have A/C.

One of my favorite breweries in downtown Detroit (Midtown). They have been making great classic styles of beer since 1995. They also make amazing wood fired oven pizza. In the summer, they have outdoor seating. They sell plenty of beer to go. Bonus, they also sell wine and make some canned cocktails!

Can I give this place 6 stars?! I used to have lunch here at least once a week but no longer work in the area so have been away nearly a full year... Pizza is still zesty and delicious... much better sitting at the bar, hot & fresh from the oven with a cold pint of the Honey Porter... I do miss coming here but you shouldn't!

I love finding new places and this one just happens to be just across from Holly Pumpkin off of Cass. The Nut Brown is tasty, the cider is dry and tart and the atmosphere is friendly and chill.

First time there was a good experience. Fast service, good beer (about $5/pint), and good pizza (about $10 for a 10" pie). It's a nice stop, relatively small place of you were wondering.

Discovered this place with a friend. Environment is cozy. Cool menu. Bomb selection of beer. First experience was absolutely amazing. The young women who serviced us (whose names rhyme) were fun, attentive and definitely made a future visit concrete. Spinach dip, delicious.I brought a newcomer after raving about the establishment for my second visit. But this experience was terrible. Opposite, as if I were on the twilight zone. The young man was not attentive and very cold. Although it was much busier, there was no notions of my previous visit. We were almost ignored. Did not feel welcomed. Hence, i just got appetizer and left.I'll be back for a 3rd time with hopes of redemption.

Visited with my Mother on a Sunday afternoon and was not busy at all. There is a upstairs patio along with a outdoor beer garden as well. Great location next to other restaurants and local shops. We ordered one of the fire oven pizzas which was amazing and a couple of their signatures cocktails. The service was also great and the food did not take long at all.

Great people. Everyone is friendly even the other customers. Super friendly, super nice, super good beer, and super good food. I say, it's just super.

Motor City Brewing Works and Winery has tasty beers and wood fired pizzas. Their Phony Island Pie is a deconstructed Detroit-style Coney Island hotdog on a pizza crust. Their crab dip is popular but the pepper is a bit overpowering to taste the crab. Worth a visit!

Best specialty pizzas around! Delicious local beer. Great staff. My favorite place to visit in Detroit.

Questions & Answers

I was just there the other day and a customer had one with him while he ate! No problems from staff or customers either so I'm assuming so! :)

Actually switched over to Crowlers (33 oz cans) a little while ago. They will still fill anyone's growler, but no longer sell new ones.

Certainly

The designated parking is extremely limited and located directly in front of the brewery within the Traffic Jam parking lot. There are only a handful of spaces for Motor City and if you park outside of those spaces you will be charged the parking lot rate.
