I’ve always wanted to try steamed buns. Randomly found this place last night. OMG is all I can say. These things are sooooo good. I will be back on the regular. I had the pork/cabbage steamed bun and the chicken and veggie pan friend.

I really liked the cheeseburger bun, wasn't too crazy about the fried bun (chicken), but I'll be back to try some of the other buns for sure!

Outstanding restaurant for a quick, delicious bite to eat. We went to the Buns Barn on a whim one day and it has quickly become our favorite restaurant in the Cary, NC area. The chicken cilantro wontons, xiaolongbao, and pork and veggie bao are amazing.

I was really craving some buns and ended up here. I loved the different choices that they had and got the three bun combo with two side. I tried the chicken, pork, and vegetarian buns and they were all delicious. The buns themselves are filled pretty well. The place wasn’t very busy when I went so the service was extremely fast. The food was really good and I was stuffed after the meal, all for about $8. Will definitely be going back.

Food is fantastic! If you want something different other then the usual Chinese Asian food then this is the place to try. Prices great, portions awesome.

Good food cheap. This place is the only place in town that can do authentic buns well, and I can attest to that as a Chinese person. However, the outlet should work on improving the decor. When I went the lights were off, the TV was off, the walls were bland & had barely any decor, and it was really dim inside; most people were doing take out for good reason.

Very good concept- definitely the first in the triangle but the execution is a little underwhelming. I mean the menu can be done a little better. I.e. noodles soup with meat didn't include what kind of meat is in it. English name for the noodle soup would have you believe it's a vegetarian dish. The bun has too thick of the breading part and little filling in relation to the breading. The fillings are actually delicious , just not enough of it. I've tried the fried beef and Curry bun, pork and cabbage as well as the teriyaki chicken. I like the beef and Curry one the best. I also tried the cilantro/ chicken wonton soup... Um.. this is about the best from the menu. I would tried that again. My friends order the spicy noodles soup not really knowing what type of meat is associated. I would come back to try other items but.. first impression is - they can do better. It's a place with potential for sure!

The staff is friendly and the buns are delicious and cheap. I got the 6 steamed buns, which was enough to feed two. I went for three teriyaki chicken and three pork and both were fantastic. I highly recommend checking this new place out, you'll be glad you did.

Steam buns are really good! I thought it tasted a lot better cooled down once the flavors settled. Would come back.

It as worth driving all the way out here, just to eat. Buns Barn has a wide selection of things to eat, other than buns but you should definitely order buns. I ordered one of every kind of bun that they made. It didn’t matter if they were steamed, fried and regular, all of them were great but the teriyaki chicken was my favorite. I ordered a Taro Coconut Milk with tapioca pearls, it wasn’t overly sweet either. The taste and texture of the Taro milk was fun also, a great dessert drink.

Great food, friendly dude helped us out and chatted for a bit, diverse menu. Simple casual counter serve spot with quality street food, don't need much more than that.

Had the Xaio Long Bao and a pork bun. Not bad and quick service!

Questions & Answers

No. When I was there one month ago, they also didn't have any to-go menu.
