Mootz Pizzeria

The sauce on this pizza was bland. The cheese didn’t carry much flavor one would find from fresh mozzarella. The crust was good being a little thinner and crispier. Decent slice but nothing to write home about.

This place has a swanky feel to it. Very welcoming. I had the Nuts & Bolts pizza, it was AMAZING!!! I recommended anyone to give them a try. You'll love it!

I was born and raised in NYC and Mootz can definitely rival some of the greats. The sauce is on point! Finally someone doing ricotta right as well. Keep it up fellas I’m quite impressed.

I finally got a chance to try their New York style Pizza (of which we really don’t have many offerings in the Motor City) and we weren’t disappointed! Ended up sharing a Beast if Burden pizza followed by their delicious tiramisu! Quite satisfying and I would go again.

I went for the first time on Friday! I had photoshoots all day in the area and when I had a break I decided to pop in. I just so happened to end up there during happy hour and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The app I had was called the Truffled Bumblebee and was amazing! I was iffy about whipped sheep milk ricotta but I'm always down to try something new and I'm glad I did! It was so good. I do wish they had more bread with it but the waitress' recommendation to use the rest on the pizza crust was spot on! The pizza I had was the Fungi. Super good and had a very nice dose of mixed mushrooms. Some places have mushroom pizzas but fall short on a good amount of them. Mootz, isn't that place. I was super stoked on that. I can't wait for another shoot in the area so I can pop in again to try something else.

First and last lunchtime visit. Pizza was very good, but took nearly one hour to be served, despite not being all that busy. $5 happy hour doesn't look bad. May give them another chance after work sometime. Too bad really.

Service is amazing! Pizza is amazing! The Finnochio Salad is amazing! The salad was the reason for my visit. If you like jicama you'll like this salad, the base is fennel, the dressing is as simple as it can get..evoo and lemon. If you're a true foodie, you can taste the freshness of the mozzarella cheese on the pizza, the pizza sauce is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful!

The slices you can get here are amazing. Perfect late night snack after a few beers. Great prices for the quality of slice. The dinning area looks very nice also. I think this is a great bar to hangout and have great food. I will be returning for sure!

One bite, everyone knows the rules. I give it a solid 8. Very good pizza, can’t complain about really anything. Sauce could use a little more salt and garlic but that’s really just nit picking. Def recommend this pie for any occasion from a lunch slice to an after game or event dinner.

Mootz is amazing! The first time we had it was at a party, we loved it so much that we ordered a few months ago. Since then it has become our go-to... we have loved it every time. The garlic knots are a must!

Delicious, east coast style pizza. Fabulous gluten free options too!

First, we had lovely salads on each table, the Italian Chopped - very fresh greens and finely chopped salami and ham with a choice of dressings. I had ordered the Uptown pizza, the Popeye, and the OPT Original Tomato Pie for the group. They came out piping hot and delicious. The wait staff was very efficient in taking our beverage order as well as taking care of all other needs. The owner circulated among the group chatting away with the tables. We had a great time and I highly recommend the place and the pizza!!

Quite simply, the best pizza you can find in Detroit. From the quality of ingredients to the preparation and presentation, Mootz knows how to make a pie. On top of their amazing pizzas, this restaurant offers pastas, salads, hoagies and more. Their garlic knots appetizer is also things dreams are made of. Don't get me started on the quality of the cocktails, either.If you're looking for THE spot in the city for a night out, Mootz has to be at the top of your list.

I’ve never heard of this place until my cousin took us here one night. The food is amazing!! The garlic knots are the best I’ve had, and were a huge hit at our table. After I left, I told so many people about this place, and will definitely be back myself.

Great atmosphere. Decent drink selection. NY style pizza is great. Have been back twice now.
