Hmm. I see I'm in a minority here by disliking this local joint. The owner was there and he was very nice and quick. There was no description of any of the long long list of chaat options, so I just went with paneer since I knew what that was. I'm not very experienced with chaat, so I wasn't interested in trying the one called crazy since when I asked what was in it, the response was, "many delicious things, you will like it." My friend asked if there was one with a lot of vegetables, and she was recommended salad chaat. Both were very sweet and not very savory, even the paneer was pretty sweet. I'd go back to try Lassi but I don't think I'd get food here again. It was really wasteful that the food comes in plastic take out even if you eat in, and they give you the plastic top too, but then it goes all in the trash when you're done, even if you didn't need the top.

Lovely place to come and have an authentic lassie. Very tasty! Many flavors to choose from. They even make platters as well.

Best lassi I've ever had. Period. I tried mango, rose, fig, date almond, pineapple, and a delicious tropical combination. I loved it. If I'm ever back in Philadelphia, I will make a point to go back to Mood Cafe.

The Chaat is REAL. The owner is A M A Z I N G and hilarious. He's on the phone 24/7 but will stop to serve you and chit chat. I love the vibe here and deeply appreciate the authenticity of the food. Chaat 4 lyfe.

Good dude owns this place and Desi Village. He is really friendly. Chaats are tasty and come in a good portion for the price. He also has about 60 lassi flavors (like a yogurt smoothie or milkshake) and will tell you which fruits are in season.

Mostly I go there for lassis, the Indian analogue of smoothies. They have many dozens of flavors, and you can combine them in more ways than I could calculate. I've also occasionally gotten a meal there and been well satisfied. The staff is friendly, and the prices are very fair. No complaints at all.

I stop in here whenever I get the chance just to chat with the owner. Just a great guy, bringing authentic chaats, curries, and lassis to the neighborhood. On a hot day, nothing better than a chilled Papri Chaat and salty lassi (don't knock it til you try it). And the rose lassi can't be beat, the owner grows the rose bushes himself for the petals!

The food was good and they gave you a lot of it, the coffee was decent and the store was small so their is no place to sit, but the employees were energetic. One explained to me the meaning behind Friday the thirteenth (on Saturday the 3erd). I also learned about the origins of the Knights Templar and watching the owners facial expressions was during this was worth the whole meal. This place is worth going to.

I love this place. The owner is always so kind and will even sometimes give me some extra Lassi for free. He is funny and always very social. Great spot.
