Monty's Blue Plate Diner

Monty's Blue Plate Diner gets what it means to be a "diner." You walk in the door to a shiny tiled floor and a gleaming case of oversize freshly baked pies and immediately see the logo for Just Coffee Coop. You know that no matter what, you are getting an amazing cup of coffee. And, you know, that, in the parlance of restaurants, you save "some room" you will be rewarded with dessert. The food is diner fare, eggs, pancakes, etc., but the interpretation is elite. The eggs were served with a chunky buttermilk biscuit and crispy home fried potatoes. Really excellent. Line can be long to get a table because this place is popular, but it was worth the wait. Will return.

I never understood the fascination with this place. I have been here about a dozen times over 3 decades and always found the food overpriced for the portions, quality, and service. I always got breakfast and was usually dragged there by others that think it is so great. I have also been to events catered by Monty's and it was okay to good but nothing spectacular. I am not saying Monty's is bad, but I can always find equal or better service, quality, and quantity breakfasts at cheaper prices at several other places in town. It's just breakfast anyways, all you are really paying for is convenience at Monty's, I can do just as well at home.

Monty's Blue Plate Diner is amazing! I ordered the Meatloaf Hash, and it is so delicious! The servers are all really friendly and the food is served quickly! I really enjoyed how casual of a place it is to eat because you can just relax and enjoy your meal. I also got a cinnamon sugar doughnut, and that far exceeded my expectations!!

Fantastic food and amazing service. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. Even with the place having a busy Friday night they were very fast and attentive.

We love this diner for a fast lunch - makes veg eating wife and meat eating hubby happy! Very filling and great service. We recommend the waffle fries and Bloody Mary!

We went there for breakfast. The food was fantastic and the service was great. Eggs were cooked to order, the biscuit was just perfect, the potatoes were nicely done. My husband had a burger and was very happy. We had a bit of a wait for a table - it's a busy spot for breakfast and for good reason.

Country Breakfast and German chocolate was amazing! Food came out quick. Highly recommend. The biscuit was moist and perfect. Great customer service. 👍

Short wait at 6:30 but quickly seated. Great service and DELICIOUS food, especially the veggie meatloaf -- m-m-m and the Reuben -- tender meat. I will return!

This is a very friendly and quaint retro dinner. I recommend it to all in the area. They prepare there own granola mix from raw ingredients that I particularly enjoy. They have a wonderful morning egg scramble special each day also.

Nice little diner on Atwood. There was a wait for a table, but it was also Sunday at brunch time. Waiter was fast and friendly. I ordered the blt with fries, sandwich was good, fries were your basic american fries. I think next time I would order the biscuits and gravy because my friends plate looked delicious. Serves alcohol which was a plus.

Usually a wait of 15 to 45 minutes, but it is so worth it. Feel-good, home cooked flavor. Awesome vegetarian dishes. You can't go wrong here.

Great place for comfy and relaxed dining with my vegan daughter. They have something for everyone, and I do mean everyone! Perfect comfort nosh for vegans and non vegans alike. Great collection of fiesta and hall teapots, as well.

I’ve been here multiple times, every time I’m satisfied! The staff is very kind and considerate of your needs. I’ve also Eatstreeted Monty’s before well worth. Chicken pot pie is excellent.

The meatloaf stack was the best thing I possibly could have eaten on this freezing day! Service was great. My husband’s biscuits and gravy disappeared so quickly that I almost missed my opportunity to take a picture. We had to tale our slices of pie to go because we were full!

This place gets pretty crowded so better have some patience. The staff was kind overall. We had a vegan friend who couldn't eat around non vegan food. So we all ordered some vegan food The bacon on the vegan BLT was awful. I ate it not to be rude but I will never order it again unless I HAVE to. The shakes were not that bad but it's unfortunate they only sell donuts on the weekends. The service was as quick as possible and understanding. It's a nice place and I probably would have enjoyed it more if it was for that bacon. Almost ruined my night.
