Monterey Cookhouse - Wood-Fire Cuisine

This place rocks. Really great food and the staff at Monterey Cookhouse is top notch. They go above and beyond and are extremely personable. For example, my wife wanted a specialty drink that we knew wasn’t on the menu and the waitress politely told us she would speak to the bartender. The bartender came to our table shortly after and made her a drink as close to order as he could. These folks are great and never disappoint. Food is fantastic and prices are very reasonable.

The food was great, altough the interior could use a makeover. Good wine, fair price for a nice meal.

They offer good food, a full bar and great service that is moderately priced. Their oak fired oven provides a variety of choices from menu. I reccomend giving them a try.

The place has a wonderful look and a very relaxing atmosphere. The food and setting are magnificent as well. The brunch buffet was absolutely delicious and worth it. Staff was also friendly, helpful and knowledgeable too. The only issue is it's location. I nearly missed it cause it kind of creeps up on you.

Enjoyed our dinner here. Was walking distance from our motel so an easy choice over ordering pizza. Food was great.. burger I had was delicious. Have a wide selection of food that satisfied my whole family.

Behind every great burger, stands a great bun. They nailed it! Best I ever had! Afterwards the barman made a very nice, improviced, tequila cocktail. Great place!

Best place in Monterey I've ever been to. Calamari was INCREDIBLE. "The Beast" (signature burger) left me in a state of pure joy. I didn't even speak during dinner, it was so good. Prices are what one would expect, and the staff was VERY attentive.

Good restaurant in a convenient location. Food was yummy: The steak most especially. What tops the experience was the bartender's candor and service. Marco is a great bartender! Went to dinner last night and we sat at the bar. Marco was attentive, knowledgeable bartender and provided excellent dining hospitality. Any restaurant would be lucky to have him. Thanks, Marco!

This place could absolutely be my normal, go-to steakhouse in Monterey. Definitely check it out!

This is a regular stop for me when I come to Monterey to teach a scuba class. It is in walking distance of my hotel and serves great Italian food. They use s wood fired oven for pizzas and other dishes.

Service was very nice and helpful. We had a nice bear and the hamburger tasted great.

Great food and excellent service! Waiter eas super nice. I had the full rack of beef back ribs. I'm a very picky eater, and these ribs are done to perfection!Monterey Cookhouse cooks and smokes in house. Spicy smoked chicken wings were awesome. Wife had the happy hour burger and a beer, my 3 year old had the chicken sliders (minus the sauce) and fries. I had a glass of wine, and for dessert they have my daughter a slice of carrot cake for her birthday. I left full with plenty of leftovers, which sadly did not survive my late night snacking hour.A must eat spot for all carnivores (veggie options too).
