There is a free shuttle bus from Echigo Yuzawa Station. A new facility is built in the central mouth, lockers are also easy to change widely. Locker is free to open and close for 1 day at around 400 yen. It is very convenient for people coming by Shinkansen from the city center that is not a car. JR 's Shinkansen Pack is cheap anyway. If it is weekdays it is 9700 yen and roundtrip from Tokyo station, 1 lift ticket is attached. This is a surprise because it is cheaper than the cost of a rare Shinkansen. The first lift in the central entrance had become a really good thing. It was like an amusement park attraction seat, comfortable to sit and comfortable. All lifts I wish this would be the case. The slopes are also spread and slippery, and can be enjoyed as there are kickers of about 5 m and half pipes. Moreover, I think that Hatsuka Stone side is gentle slope and few people and it is very good for practicing beginners.

Stayed at Garden Villa Ishiuchi which was right next to the resort and our expectations were high. Unfortunately the slopes are like rice paddies and in steps and with no real good long runs. Snow conditions were very wet compared to others and it was very crowded. They have a new lift with Gondolas which we did not get to try out but probably due to this, their lift prices are about 20% higher than others nearby.Worst is that they do not allow Snow scoots or Snow Motos but we did not find out until we were on our 4th lift near the top. When we bought our tickets we were told that it was ok and also there was nothing on their home page to indicate otherwise. So we got our money back and went to Iwappara Ski Resort for the afternoon which was awesome! Better snow conditions, wide long runs, lot less people and no discrimination against your equipment of choice.

Ishiuchi Maruyama ski resort after a long absence.It was the first use of a new gondola, but it was a nice gondola and lift that was easy to ride because it was clean and fast and the seats were good.The course was good and stable.By all means, please use Ishiuchi Maruyama.

This year's stone hikaru Maruyama ski resort is blessed with snow, and if it is a weekday it will dare to slide.It is also interesting that the first lift can choose the chair and the gondola lift by improving the central mouth!Today I slipped twice from Teppen to the central mouth, the bottom, I was physically satisfied.A long time ago, the slopes eateries are also alive, especially Belana is recommended. A ski resort that has been indebted to me for a long timeThe performance of the lift has improved so much that it does not compare with the old days. At the bottom is high speed, seat with gondola and heater, mountain top is also fast, both transport distance greatly increased so it is best to ski a long distance without connecting. There used to be a period when skiing alone was a snowboarding in the past but there are half pipes now, and I guess there is not such a ski resort. I am sorry that it costs too much and it gets crowded accordingly.

There are many courses and restaurants are also crowded.

In 2018-2019 season, the world's most advanced new lift appeared. The gondola and the lift are coming together.It was beautiful and the ride was the best, and the transit to the top of the mountain also decreased once.I hope the uphill of the connection of the remaining lift will be managed ...

Ishiuchi is a fun resort. It is shaped like a triangle with three different base areas (Hatsukaishi, Chuo, and Kankou) leading up to the peak, which is where Ishiuchi joins across to GALA Yuzawa. With different runs to choose from as you ski back down from the peak it feels as if the resort offers you the chance to explore a bit. Lots of really interesting restaurants dotted around all over the slopes.

The snow field is very large. There are three entrances in total. Shikou, central port and sightseeing port. The novice suggested to practice on the green slope of Shikou. The other two green lines are a bit difficult for the novice. After learning to turn the car, you can go directly to the mountain along the mountain. The green line is down, the top of the mountain is beautiful, the difficulty is not high and it is very fun.1 day ticket 4600 yen, 2 day ticket 7000 yen. Yuzawa Sanshan joint ticket, 1 day ticket 5100 yen, 2 day ticket 8100 yen.One-day tickets can only be used at 17:00, and night-slips need to purchase another 2,000 yen for night-slip tickets after 5:00. 1.5 day ticket, 2 day ticket, night slip can be used on the first day. Night slips are not allowed for the Sanshan joint ticket.If you have a nearby homestay, you can ask if there are any coupons available, and the price will be much cheaper.

I went there for snowboarding on one day trip from Tokyo by shinkansen. It was in early February and it snowed all day long. It's located 10min from Echigo-Yuzawa station by car. There is shuttle car provided by local ski rental shops. If you can speak Japanese, that would be much easier. I got a very good deal for rental gears at 2000yen, one day lift ticket cost 4600 yen and include 900yen lunch coupon. There are many slopes for all levels. The lack of gondola to peak is a bit inconvenience as you have to ride on several lifts.

Ishiuchi Maruyama Is my recommendation for skiing or snowboarding! I have lived in Tokyo for 30 years and I went to go snowboarding over 30 times. Recently I often go here.It’s easy to access from Tokyo! And size is enough to enjoy multiple days trip.Gala is easiest access ski park from Tokyo because it’s next to Shinkansen station. So it’s sometimes too busy.Ishiuchi Maruyama is 10-15 minutes away from Echigoyuzawa station by shuttle bus. And not so busy.Actually there are many ski resorts in Hokkaido and Nagano. But when I do snowboarding I go to here. Strongly recommended.

Great place. Have different rang ride for all levels. If they can change to IC ticket will be prefect.
