Monk's BBQ

The barbecue here is excellent, and the sides are wonderful, too. My favorite barbecue here is the pastrami sandwich on rye. The barbecue items are a bit pricey, considering I can smoke my own ribs for 1/3 the price. So, I typically do not get the ribs. I've tried them and they're excellent, too. All the meats are great! Very flavorful. Custard filled cornbread is out of this world. The smoked Gouda mac and cheese is amazing. Beer selection is phenomenal. We love Monk's!

As my hunt continues for the best BBQ in the Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia area I was pointed to Monk's from my girlfriend's foodie group. I prefer that my ribs to fall off the bone. This is a half of a rack of the best ribs I've had in the Tri-state area (the dry rub had a little spice in it, wasn't over powering but a little intense an unexpected) . The pickles were really good but different. Baked beans have peices of rib tips, delicious! The cornbread has custard which is new to me, wasn't bad but I prefer regular cornbread. My girlfriend had the brisket which I shared, very tender and almost melt in my mouth. Great coloring and flavor. Her side's were the smoked gouda mac & cheese (heavenly), bacon on a stick (heavily flavored thick and pricey $5.99 per stick), dirty rice which had some spice to it and clthe same cornbread. I highly recommend Monk's!

All homemade and outstanding, pastrami melts in your mouth.Great selection of beers, and ribs let the meat fall off the bone...Must go
