Great historic place to eat. It is one of the oldest Mexican restaurants in the nation. The restaurant was busy but we still got good service. The chorizo and potatoes were excellent. They no longer make buñuellos, that are still listed on the menu, so we ordered churros instead. We will be returning soon.

Came from Lancaster, was not disappointed. Seriously the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Pozole was delicious and the shredded chicken and beef tacos were incredible- the shells were freshly fried and the meat was tender and juicy and hot. No wonder this place has been open 82 years.. we will definitely be coming back!

Well it depends ....I rented the hall and food for 235 people and it was very inexpensive, a good deal

Yes

I was just taught that he used to own a burger place across from this place (this was around the time McDonald's got big) and used to go there for lunch every day. One day he had asked how they did it and they took him to the back and showed him, once that happened that's when he had decided to go make Taco Bell. It was something different because around this time tacos were basically introduced to the US although yes there were other things that were already known around that time such as tamales

The Mitla Cafe is the best genuine Mexican Cafe on Route 66.
