They have reported a planned closure at the end of the month, with no date for reopening. Absolutely lovely people and service. Good was familiar and comforting.

This place is outstanding! The food, especially when you order the dim sum from the menu, is the best around and even rivals what you get in Seattle ID. The price is more affordable than many places in the region, and the portion size is bigger. I recommend this place to you, reader. Be sure to say hi to Jason, and give him my regards. 🙂

Food was decent. Service was slow. Friendly staff. Just watch out for the aggressive up-sale and get a surprise big check

Don't let the location/building drive your opinion for this place. The food is good and the owners are the sweetest people. Pretty much your only dim sum option in Tacoma, and I am thankful they are here! Never had a bad experience here.

Food was great, the inside looks very nice, and the woman who runs the front of house is super kind! For local small eats, I highly recommend this place. If you’re looking to eat dim sum, just ask for the menu!

I come to this restaurant every time I visit my parents. This place has a good variety of Chinese dishes and Dim Sum with ample portions. Those who are not very familiar with Chinese cuisine should not have any fear when they come to this restaurant because there are good "safety" choices, like sweet and sour pork and General Tso's Chicken. That being said, there are excellent dishes for those who are experienced in Chinese cuisine. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurant.

Tacoma has almost no dim sum. Unfortunately, Ming Palace fails to successfully fill the void. The siu mai was very overdone, sticky rice mediocre, black bean spare ribs were fatty and badly cut. Ha gow was ok. Our server was sweet but didn't serve correctly. There was a major language barrier that shouldn't be an issue when "doing dim sum" . She tried to drop 4-5 orders of chicken feet on our table of 10 people without us asking!!! Ridiculous! Sadly we'll have to keep waiting in Tacoma for good dim sum!

This is a little hole in the wall place. You dont expect to find what you find when you walk in. The service was amazing and the place is actually quite nice. It really should get more business, but I think the location is why it doesn't. All In all, it is a great place. We will be back!

I’m glad that the only local place that serves shumai has good shumai! Honey walnut prawns are a MUST. The prawns are huge. Chinese broccoli is great. Brought a dimsum enthusiast and they said it was pretty good! Good prices too

Short Review: Many other places from the Tacoma - Federal Way area serve much better dim sum with much better service towards non Chinese customers. These people do not care about their customers if they are not Chinese. I have visited this place twice Long Review: As a person that enjoys eating an infinite variety of foods and trying new places, I was excited to see what this place had. It was very underwhelming in terms of food and service for the wrong reason. Food - 3/5 - Dim Sum tasted to something like the frozen ones you can get at Safeway or other grocery stores (I don't advise eating those in any way but was curious at some point). Rice was noticeably dry and I noticed that a quarter of the menu was crossed out. Was this location previously owned by a similar restaurant type? Vegeatable dishes were well prepared but should not be a reason to visit this place. Service - 1/5 - This is a very controversial thing that many oriental restaurants have an issue of doing. The FIRST TIME I visited, I was with my Chinese girlfriend's family. The waiters continuously served us and the overall service would be a 5/5. They went out of their way to cater to everything we wanted/needed. But before leaving, I saw 2 different sets of customers that were Caucasian arguing with the manager that they were being charged for multiple dishes they did not buy. This made me curious so ONE WEEK LATER I came back with some friends of mine. ON THE SECOND VISIT, I came with some friends who were craving dim sum (none of us visibly Chinese/fully asian) while also curious about how our service would be. Oh my god...did a total 180 occur. The waiters took about 20 minutes to get to us compared to the immediate response previously and my previous 30 minute lunch took about 2 hours to finish. After once again eating below average food, we went up to pay our bills...and wow... we calculated the cost since I offered to pay and the total should have been about $33. We were charged $68 which was insane and all of us asked the lady why we were charged so much. She shows us the markings on the order paper and indeed, there were about twice as many markings as the food we had received. I immediately brought up that this was not correct and the manager promptly came out to tell us that we were wrong and this is exactly what we ordered. Luckily (but not really) one of my friends took a picture of the food earlier and showed the lady how much we got. They accused us of not having enough money and that we were trying to pay less for the food we received. So we did what I'm sure many other customers did and payed for everything so we could just leave but no leave a tip. Before getting in the car, we were chased down by one of the ladies saying that we didn't tip and that we needed to tip for the service. At that point we just ignored her and drove away while she was yelling. Overall rating - 2/5 - There should really be no reason to come to this place. If you are not Chinese, I recommend you to stay away. You will be scammed pretty hard. Would normally think it was a one time issue but I've seen multiple people complain both online AND in person.

Ming Palace serves up some of the most delicious dimsums in the south sound area. We can find many varieties here and they all taste great. We also enjoy their Hong Kong style seafood chowmein, which is delicious! The sweet buns will also satisfy you, if people like some sweets as desserts.

I've only been once, but it was great dim sum on the weekend. The food was delicious, and the service was great, but it does look a little sketchy from the outside with wooden boards over some of the windows. Don't let that keep you away though, it's definitely worth eating here.

This place was amazing. It's beautiful and the food is amazing, it's a little more on the expensive side, but for how much and what you get? Perfect. I recommend for date night or get togethers. Very large selection at the bar.

I took my family here for my dad birthday for dinner. I thought that they served ready to eat Dim sum on the cart all day. But they don't. They only serve dim sum on the cart from 11-3.But the waitress said we could order dim sum. So I ordered 5 order of shumai, 2 of the sticky rice, 2 bbq nom bow, 1 pork football, 1 sesame roll, chinese brocolli, steam rice, and 2 orders from the menu, and water. We got the chinese brocolli within 10 mins. We had to ask another waiter for water and steam rice after waiting for 20 mins. The 2 menu order came after waiting about 15 mins. We had to keep asking a different waiter for help, because the original waitress kept disappearing and forgetting our stuff. She seemed like she didn't want to work or care to provide us with service. She eventually disappear and we didn't see her again. We could also hear the kitchen staff arguing! It just seemed very unorganized! After waiting for over AN HOUR for the dim sum, I took my son to get his diaper change, and there was NO CHANGING TABLE OR COUNTER to change him on. I had to change him on the dirty floor! Lucky I had brought 2 changing pads. I swear there was Poop stain on the floors from previous use. When we got the check it was in Chinese!? We had no idea what it said!!!! The experience was awful! The food was okay, but the service was very bad!!! Never going there again.
