Milk Bar Mini: East Village

About

Milk Bar is a sweet (and occasionally savory) shop that's been quietly shaking up the dessert scene since 2008. Bon Appetit magazine called us "one of the most exciting bakeries in the country." But you can literally just call us Milk Bar. Founded by James Beard award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi, Milk Bar is known for inventing: the Compost Cookie®, layer cakes with unfrosted sides, Cereal Milk™ Soft Serve, Milk Bar Pie the first flip phone and shoulder pads (Ok, technically those last two weren't us). Snag some standout treats and skip off to your next adventure.

This place is awesome! The flavors are so unique and different from any kind of dessert I’ve ever had before. I had a cup of the cereal milk soft serve with corn flakes topping.

Incredible. Absolutely lived up to the hype. The Milk Bar Pie (previously known as Crack Pie) was even better than I hoped. The cereal milk ice cream was also delicious, savory and not too sweet.

Don't believe the hype. I stopped here yesterday and was surprised to find this bakery sells packaged cookies. What kind of bakery sells cookies like that? Are they fresh? Well, I found out....no.I picked up a Compost Cookie and thought the Corn Cookie sounded interesting. The Compost cookie saw so disgustingly sweet that it was nearly inedible. The corn cookie had an interesting flavor, but was also waaaaay too sweet and not fresh. I love cookies and didn't finish either cookie. And they don't take cash. All around fail.
