Old school and worth it! Busy but fast. Cheap but good. Pay at the door on your way out.

This is the best place we ate while in Madison. Old school, classic vibe. Cash only. HUGE portions. Service was fast, friendly, and very cool. Very impressed overall. Scramble, omelet, and griddle cake were all dynamite.

Get there early! Cozy little joint with HUGE portions of delicious food. Bring your appetite! This is a destination place if you're in Madison for a Badger game, Farmers Market, or whatever. If you have to wait in line to get a seat, don't worry. You'll be glad you did.

Best little breakfast spot in Madison. This diner has been in Madison longer than I have, they still have their original menu signs to prove it. Portions are massive. I've never finished a scrambler and I've never seen anyone finish an order of pancakes. Prices are very reasonable but they only accept cash. They have an ATM on site now though. Lunch here is also very good.

Come hungry because there’s no such thing as portion control around here. Massive plates of bomb food. Cash only, but there is an atm. Super quick! Don’t let the line outside scare you. 20 minutes is worth the wait.

Just as good as I remember from college! My husband swears that they have the best corned beef and hash that he's ever had. If you want to get in without a wait, especially on the weekend, show up early - they're definitely busy by 8:30 or 9 am.You won't go away hungry!

Amazing food and spectacular shakes. The bathrooms are horrible though. Super tiny and really unclean looking.

Large portions and quick food. I had a scrambler and strawberry milk shake which was very good. Very popular and I now know why.

One of the best places to go in Madison for breakfast. The portion of food is mind blowing. Definitely try the classic scrambler (pictured). It's a mix of yanks, omelet, gravy, and loads of cheese. Two meals in one! The banana nut pancakes are great, but you can't go wrong with any of the options. My experience with customer service was top notch for a diner. Expect a long line for the weekend rush hour.

This place is like stepping back in time. First thing you need to know is they are cash only. Second, the menu is up on the wall over the kitchen. And then there are the serving sizes. Calling them generous is an understatement. They are huge. The pancakes alone are 8" in diameter. If you feel like two, do not order anything else! You will not finish anything. I've now been here for breakfast and lunch. Whenever I'm in Madison again I will be coming back here.

I came back to Madison for a football weekend after being away for 10 years. I was happy to come back and find Mickies just how I remembered it.The line was long, but it moved quick...don't forget to bring cash.

Got to visit this gem this morning for breakfast, and overall had a really good experience. The food was really well priced, and the portion sizes were huge! It definitely has that small town cafe feel which I love, and the service was fantastic. There was also a lot of street parking nearby and around, which made getting in and out really easy. Check them out!

Yes! You can! Just speak with the cashier, and he'll help you out. :)

Never

Memorial Day is always a Monday and Mickies is closed on Mondays.

Really really early. I avoid it on game days. They do move quickly thru a line. I recommend a weekday morning...anytime is gonna be better than football game day because you can literally see the stadium and Mickeys is an institution.
