Michael's Soul Kitchen

Went here for my birthday dinner. Atmosphere was very welcoming. They had a live band setting up while we ate. I expected to be able to order food, but that wasn't the case. Buffet style dining only. Buffet was also very expensive. They should offer the buffet option or order option.

So I decided to come here to celebrate an accomplishment of my girlfriend and to have a date night. The ambiance was nice inside, and the food is every bit as good as everyone says. Here is why it only got 3 stars: First, all the food was not hot. The chicken and fish were lukewarm, but the vegetables were hot. The major thing however is that I got a not nice surprise when I got charged 30 for “admission for entertainment.” This was not indicated anywhere on their Facebook, Website, when you walk in, or told to me at any point. The music was good, but the pianist played over a track for the first half hour we were there, and we did not get live music until later into the dinner. I did not appreciate that surprise and that felt very deceptive to me. While I loved the food and the layout, being deceptive with the entertainment cost will probably prevent me from returning nor referring people here. His Place has food just as good and you will not get surprised when you get your bill.

Celebrating my nieces 40th birthday, we landed at Michael's Soul Kitchen. The buffet they sat up for us was very satisfying. The offerings included fried perch, greens, green beans, chicken wings fried, baked and bbq'd, mac & cheese, etc. Food was good...music took us back in time. My sisters twins looked like the true divas they are. We had a great time. Good place for a holiday gathering.

The food was delicious. The greens and cabbage had a bit more heat as in spice for my taste. Overall the brunch was very good.

Visited today for the first time with my home girl and her sister and mother. We were misinformed about the hours, and thus arrived just as they were closing. However, the manager, Romeo, seated us anyway. The waitress and staff went above and beyond to provide food and great customer service, although I'm sure they wanted to go home, lol. They were all very friendly and accommodating. It is a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere without being boogie. Plan to return and take in a jazz night.

Ambiance was great, food was excellent, and music was rocking! How can you lose!

My family and I enjoyed dinner. Michael's has a really nice and relaxed ambience. The music as well as the crowd was mature and laid back. The food was good although the buffet was a little pricey in my opinion. I especially enjoyed the fish, fried cabbage and yams.

Website is misleading, $15.00 for the band. $25.00 all you can eat buffet from 7 to 9:30 on Fridays live jazz. The food was good. For a black own business it's a nice place to go and a older crowd. I would recommend.

Had a great time last Wednesday. We had been wanting to check the place out. We went as a party of 5, and initially thought we would not be able to all sit together. It was cozy and already a lot of people. #Karen Vaughn of #WTLC, was hosting her Vision Board party that evening. It was GREAT! The greeters found room for us with a smaller party at a larger table. The food and drink was great. Though the drink was good it still seemed a bit pricey, and without having a fuller wine option. I believe everyone was enjoying themselves. Great music, great vibe.

The food was delicious and the music we stayed to the end of the show. I would highly recommend this place. Had a Great time!!!
