Good weekend brunch set above the theater lobby. It's a good place if you've got time for a meal just before a show. Unfortunately, it's not good enough for me to come back unless I happen to be seeing a show.

My first screening at Metrograph was sublime. Staff who THINK and respond. I'm going to look into membership.

Chic movie theater. Wish the seats were more comfortable.

Great theatre with a good ongoing selection of anime films and other alternative genres. There is a bar and a small bookshop that makes it the perfect place to wait before your movie or have a drink afterwards. I really appreciate the selection of Japanese snacks and unusual drink offerings, along with movie theatre staple snacks.

One of the best places to see Film in NYC. Friendly, knowledgeable staff; two intimate theaters; restaurant with vegan choices; and two groovy bars. Best part: Reserved seating and the best programming ever! Plus, the you’ll appreciate the nice attention to design, from its employee’s uniforms to signage and online and print design. A feast for your eyes, imagination, and mind. Yummy popcorn, too!

Mad Men style place with private couches to hang put with your friends, cocktails are absolutely amazing. I didn't try the food but I will be back doe sure. Highly recommended ifyou love vintage style places and films.

First visit: We came for brunch. Very nice, really great service. Free refills on 'good' coffee! *No Sweet-n-Low* but nice Brown sugar blocks :) I had the Norwegian eggs [photo], very good and I'd get it again. The GF had scrambled eggs w/mushrooms, she said it was good. Our dining partners had Steak & eggs w/fries (good) and scrambled eggs w/mushrooms (this plate had more mushrooms than my GFs plate). Overall we had a great time, not loud so it was easy to talk & hear. Will come again. FYI 5th star is for consistency.

I love this place. They had delicious and freshly prepared food and served on time. The staff was very friendly and polite. Their prices were fair.

Best cinema experience. Beautiful cafe. Small bookshop. Really friendly and unpretentious.

Loved some things about The Metrograph (location and movie screen), hated most of it. The concessions are small and WAY OVERPRICED (seriously, you sell popcorn by the half pint??), the staff was very unfriendly, movie seats are the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced, the vibe is entirely coastal elite.

I love Metrograph. They are always showing at least one excellent movie not shown anyone else, they invite movie stars to special screenings and Q&As, and their renovated rooms are SO elegant. If anything, the seats could be more comfy, especially for +3 hour movies!

The chimichurri on the steak and eggs is a fresh and lovely complement. The fries were crispy and salty, just the way I like them. The space almost has an outdoor feel with a large skylight in the middle of the floor. But at the same time, a cosy bookstore feel. Nice for brunch, probably not ideal for big groups.

Private event, but sweet venue with an intimate theater, snack stand, and bar with a restaurant upstairs

Beautiful space with niche old school films and a chill place to have a good drink upstairs.
