Mermaid Tavern

The vibe is laid back and the seem to have a good draft beer list. My husband and I weren't drinking the night we visited so I cannot fully comment on beers. Love that they have mother kombucha on tap, I love this brand. I'm always excited to try different jack fruit dishes so I ordered the jackfruit tacos. I was a bit disappointed by the bland flavor of the toppings. It was supposed to have mango which would have stood out but there really wasn't any. And the slaw should have some lime or something as it dulls the overall good flavor of the jack fruit. Also ordered the truffle fries and they were fantastic. My husband got the drunken grilled cheese and it had great flavor ( I probably should have my hubby order for me...) Definitely worth a try, but being that I primarily eat vegetarian I sometimes do not have the best experience with finding super flavorful menu items and probably should stick to more basic Staples like grilled cheese.

The Mermaid Tavern is amazing. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and helpful with their recommendations. The atmosphere is great. The food is delicious, especially the cheese tray! They have a wide selection of both local and out of state beers and ciders. It is a really nice place to go for a pint. They also have some really interesting, fun events that they host as well. The Mermaid Tavern has become one of my favorite places to go to in Tampa. Also, dogs are welcomed on the outdoor sections of the tavern.
