Mermaid Oyster Bar

If you want to try oyster and clams this is a good place to go and people is very friendly.

Went for happy hour, but also got an entree. Oysters were delicious and only $1.25 on happy hour. My husband and I split that, the lobster knuckles (prepared like escargot, delicious!), Mini fish tacos (fried wonton wrappers shaped like taco shells, very tasty!), And we got the striped bass with a lemon caper butter that was so good! We also asked our server for dessert options in the area and she brought us recommendations, but also a little pot du creme to end our meal. All staff members were very nice from the gentlemen manning the door, our server and all the server assistants that brought us food or cleared our plates. Very glad we chose to dine here!

What an absolute gem this place is. Came for the happy hour special that starts at 5pm which is also the time the place opens. If you want your pick of table make sure you get there even before 5pm as there was a line formed just to get in! Happy hour deals are fantastic for the area. Mini lobster rolls were absolutely mouth watering delicious, will definitely be adding this to my go to New York restaurants.

Oysters, striped bass with IPA on Monday all-night happy hour! You can’t go wrong!

Nice Happy Hour place, in Manhattan, with good specials, just can get crowded

This was definitely one my favourite places I visited for happy hour while we were in nyc. It was pricier than a lot of other places, at $1.50 an oyster and only one type being on the happy hour menu for that price (every other place we went had multiple options for $1). They were great oysters though, and the fried ones were absolutely delectable. We only got two since they were $3.50 per one! Totally worth it though. The drinks were great and decently priced for happy hour. We got a complimentary chocolate mousse after we ate which was delicious! And also a fun little quip was the “magic fortune telling fish.” You’ll have to experience for yourself to understand what I’m talking about! The atmosphere was quaint and the service was good. I would definitely come back for dinner and try it out again!

Joel and his amazing staff absolutely made my night! I was welcomed by a wonderful attendant who let me know our options for Happy Hour (have to sit at the bar for food but drinks can also be served at the side bar area). Specials are awesome and drinks are ON POINT. The bartender Reed was wonderful and took such care of my friend and I (thank you)! Was a prefect night with great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Would 10/10 recommend for a first date, meet up with friends or a happy hour event. Thanks again can’t wait to come back!

Was there for their happy hour. The oysters and clams were fresh and delicious! I had the dark and stormy and my husband had the dirty and spicy. Drinks were excellent! Loved the atmosphere. We say facing out and it was perfect for people watching. The staff was very friendly and my water glass was never empty. Service was impeccable!

Amazing service. Great food. The four of us sat at the bar. Efficient, friendly and fast service from the whole team. The bartender drinks were perfect. When your martinis are constant in taste, it’s mean quality drinks. It’s a good place to unwind after a busy week. Thank you to all the staff for that great experience.

Wonderful wonderful place. We went on our first date and again on our anniversary—the happy hour (including oysters) is unbeatable and the servers go just that extra step to make you feel special and welcome. Thank you!

Best oyster bar in NYC and possibly in the world! Been here 2 times while visiting and it’s alwAys exceptional service and really really good oysters! Everyone needs to come here and experience it! Will definitely return when I come back one day!

Great for oysters. Lobster roll was fantastic. Fries a little too spicy. Would recommend it, but be prepared to spend some $$. Typical dinner for 2 around $200.

Okay place for happy hour. Thought staff could have been more hospitable and let us wait 7 min inside until opening and not state flatly they are not open (if so why not just lock the doors?). Clearly they don't own the place and don't really care about details like this.
