I love sandwiches. Always have, always will so expect some bias here. I have eaten at most sandwich places in the city with varying degrees of success. Meat Press is so consistent, it is the first place I bring people for lunch in the city, and I now live in Barrhaven. So good. Please like my review if you found it helpful =D!

A great sandwich shop (meat focus obviously) just off of Wellington...parking can be a pain depending on construction and how busy things are. Usually 4-5 sandwiches on the board, order when you get in (to go or dine in), pay and wait for a bit. Three local beers on tap along with a good selection of cans and bottles, some wine and housemade kambucha. Get there early as by 12 there is a line-up and by 1 they cross food off the board as it sells out.

'The Jefferson' -BBQ pork with spicy pickle salad on a homemade bun was delicious.

First timer. Nice spot. Casual staff. Smoked meat sandwich was good. Peach soda was tasty. Pricing was good.

Very cool venue and inspired menu. We both had the duck, as a sandwich and bowl, and both were fantastic. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked mouth watering and everyone was happily eating. This is a worthy detour for lunch that won't disappoint. We also liked that everything was local and that they had high chairs foe the wee ones. Would happily return.

Just perfect. They were surprised by the amount of people in our table (14) but we're fast and nice anyways.

Love this restaurant. Great sandwiches, amazing sides, housemade beverages, and good beer selection.

Solid place. Food was amazing but only issue was that portions are small and options to choose from are limited. Other than that I enjoyed the atmosphere and staff were friendly. Highly recommend for tasty food

This is a great gem in Westboro: a meat lovers paradise. The meat is locally sourced and fresh. The menu consists of meat sandwiches ( duck, pork, beef, chicken) and/or bowls filled with meat. The small restaurant is licensed and staff quick and friendly. Be prepared for lineups st lunchtime. The place has a funky vibe and a selected poor bohemian decor.

Best damn sandwiches in town.

Unbelievable in house aged meat for sandwiches or platters. Good selection of local craft beer as well.

Spectacular Sandwiches. You'll pay a little more for the experience, but you can taste the quality of the ingredients immediately in these transcendent eats. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed — but it could be a surly dive and still get my recommendation on the food alone. Definitely worth stopping by!

Best sandwich in Ottawa, bar none. Good beer selection.

I’ve discovered this place recently and it makes me happy. Why? The food is delicious and all made in-house. First time around, I had the Jefferson, a melt-in-mouth sandwich of deep fried pork jowl, brisket burnt ends and sausage all smothered in barbecue sauce. Second visit (two days later) I had Grandma’s Pork with boudin. Delicious morsels of richly flavoured and light textured boudin with succulent pork stew on a bed of charred Brussels sprouts and golden roasted potatoes. I added a smoked meat poutine too which had thin crispy fries and cheese that stretch when you pull away from the plate. But that smoked meat! I think of this place every week during lunch, I like it that much.
