Good food and service. Mussels are delicious and the baked eggs. Go at off times to get a good seat because they don't take reservations except for holidays.

What a really nice establishment!! Decor is modern and inviting. The bar area is gorgeous (I forgot to take a pic). You can sit down in the bar area, get a drink, relax and enjoy the ambiance!

Wound up going twice in one week, once for business and once for fun. Fantastic place with great wines, traditional yet diverse contemporary French menu, and top-notch execution of the dishes. Try the tuna burger.

We had the fixed price lunch with caesar salad and pane cotto, all very tasty, plan to return for dinner soon. Enjoyed the decor, especially the original artwork.

My wife and I as long time clientele of Martels ordered take out for Mother’s day. We had delicious and generous lamp chops and steak dinners with a scrumptuous bottle of Margaux at half price. Marty, the owner, and his staff did a fantastic job especially with the extra work involved during the pandemic. Although some dinners were provided later than the arranged pick up time, we did not mind at all. They provided delivery if requested at no additional price, which is what we did. I called Marty that night to thank him personally for his efforts and that of his staff and for making Mother’s day extra special.

Very nice local spot with good food, excellent service and good drinks

The most consistently delicious restaurant in Fairfield. Martel is one of the longest standing restaurants and that's because owner Marty Levine knows what he's doing! He is always friendly and takes care of his customers, as does the entire staff. The food is always prepared fresh, tastes amazing and Chef Roland is incredibly knowledgeable and well trained. Great choice for happy hour as they have 4-6pm buck a shuck raw bar!

The menu is an Americanized version of French European comfort food and the wine list is educational and encouraging for trying French wines. Truly great French Country Bistro. There's no better with in Fairfield County. Everything's great, but I suggest the French country food like Duck and croque-monsieur.
