It's CRAZY how much ice cream you get. I got my 4 y/o son a "small" scoop of chocolate and it was close to 1/2 pint that showed up. "No sir, that is the small."

If you want an ice cream sundae the size of your head, look no further than Margie’s. Their ice cream itself is nothing to go out of your way for but the hot fudge.... 100% worth the trip and the calories every single time.

The portions are crazy big, friendly staff, and very much a classic place to take out of town friends.

It's so nice but beware because the sizes are enormous so one sundae is good for 2 people.

It’s an old school place with huge scoops. Just know that the prices are high because you’re getting a lot of product for the price. While I enjoyed my experience, I thought my only complaint was my brownie a la mode had cold brownies. Otherwise, I would surely bring people back here.

Great ice cream shop. Scoops are the size of your face. Classic ice cream and flavors for everyone. Highly recommend the sundaes. Because of the tight space, lines are often out the door so be ready for a wait in warmer weather.

After living in Chicago 20 years my husband and I treated ourselves to an ice cream treat!Now I know why Margie's is so famous. Big scoops of ice cream, variety of flavors and cones, sundaes, and chocolate candies. I ordered the Uptown Sundae and my husband was delighted with the Turtle Sundae.

Super good Ice cream spot, if you choose to get a Sunday your gonna have to split it with another person without a doubt.

Love Margie's icecream. Great local and off brown line at Montrose. It is small and tight so you may want to take it to go or eat outside. Worth it!

Margie's is a Chicago classic. You get gigantic portions (1 split is enough for at least 2 people) and the quality is always consistent and delicious. It's got old diner charm and there are so many fun options and flavors. Prepare your lactaid because yo will get way more lactose than you anticipate. Expect a decent wait if it's semi warm out.

Giant sundaes, well priced, the best ice cream around. The Montrose location is even smaller than the Western one, so plan accordingly. Packed even on a Sunday afternoon in February. Picture is of brownie a la mode with mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Wow...this place is great. So old school yet 100% real. Great ice cream and great staff. My kids absolutely loved this place. They rate it better than all of the ice cream in Europe. A+
