Margaritas Mexican Restaurant

Good restaurant in the old San Marcos May location. They have the same chips, which are still terrible; but I enjoyed everything else. The new decor is cool and the staff seems very nice and helpful. The menu is large and pretty well balanced. I recommend the Al Pastor tacos, but they are street taco size, so order a lot of them.**Update 7/28After eating here another 5 times I'm changing to 5 stars. They have improved with every single visit. Their chips are much better, the staff doesn't seem to turn over much, and the owners are incredibly friendly. With the addition of the bar, you can also order great Margaritas. This is one my favorite Mexican restaurants in the city right now.

I was trying to put my finger on what was so distinctive about the taste of their tortilla chips. Then it occurred to me that it tastes as if they use a mixture of corn and hominy to make them. Salsa and queso were good. The only thing that disappointed me about the street tacos was that I wished there were more of them on my plate. 😉 everyone was very friendly, but the waitress forgot two of our drinks. My margarita was good; not too sweet at all. It was even strong. Overall, I like the food and atmosphere, and will be back.

Service was wonderful! The owners take a personable approach and make sure everything is great. Food was super delicious as well.We especially liked the decor throughout the place, very cool. Everyone enjoyed their meal, even the little one was ecstatic about the tortilla soup. If we're ever in town again, we'll be sure to drop by again.
