Maple Leaf Tavern

Seriously amazing place. Food is fantastic. The garlic bread is so so good. We had the ribeye with the carrots, cauliflower and fries, the Cheddar emulsion with the cauliflower is binge worthy by itself. The steak was perfectly cooked and the red wine sauce is was delicious. We were also celebrating our anniversary and in the reservation I mentioned I'd like to preorder dessert and it all came without question as well as making us a card signed by all the staff. Really classy touch. Thanks so much ❤️

Maple Leaf Tavern is a beautifully designed place. It's incredible how every detail was considered in the renovation. The food is also fantastic - seasonal, tasty, and nicely presented. Meat portions were a little over-sized and could be reduced with the inclusion of some sides instead. Service was friendly, helpful and non-solicitous. The bar would be perfect for a drink. We'll definitely return again soon!

The only regret I have with this restaurant is not coming to try it sooner! My husband and I dined there for a Friday date night. The place was slightly busy but luckily there was a cancellation and we were at to be seated at a table in the corner. However, they have an open style kitchen and bar seating where you could observe the chefs and that is one of my favourite things to do in a restaurant so we opted for the bar. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was mostly excellent! We both had a cheeseburger with fries and it was quite delicious. The only downside was my Caesar salad. Although made with a homemade anchovy dressing, the salad really fell flat. But that would not discourage me from coming back as my husband and I both sure we have a new local date spot.

Ordered their lasagna, super delicious. Bartender could have been more engaging. She was busy chatting mainly with the staff who after work were sitting at the bar.

Proving once again that anything Toronto's West End can do the East End does better, the Maple Leaf Tavern is a quintessentially Canadian dining experience. Great food, drinks and a warm and friendly atmosphere free from snobbery and pretension. Come for date night, or to enjoy a burger and whiskey cocktail at the bar solo. Nice function room available to book downstairs for larger gatherings.

Went in with my brother tonight to have a bite and a drink. There were 7 other patrons there. The dismissiveness of the hostess was sad. She was busy looking at her phone of course.She sat us in the corner of a larger table. I asked if we could sit in one of three booths that were available. She said no.i said we wouldn't be long but she refused. So I guess unless you a reservation you cant sit in a booth??? Just sayin wont go back she didn't offer up anything else. Didn't seem to care we walked out. Sad.!!!

Love this place. Great atmosphere and the food is terrific.

This place looks like nothing on the outside,but once you are inside you know you made the right choice. If you look to see the action in the kitchen, make sure to sit in the semi private room in the back, it offers a seating are where you face the grill station and a sides preparation station. The food is excellent, I had an amazing steak tartare and the mutton. The mutton was flavorful ,however the cut I ended up with wasn't the best, nevertheless my friend got a very nice mutton piece and really enjoyed it. This place is really busy , be sure to make reservations. The staff was top notch as well.

Myself and my husband dined at MLT on 24/01/20 and had the most amazing time. We didn't have a reservation but they were very accommodating and seated us at a lovely table.We were in for a quick dinner and both had the cheese burger and a great beer from a local brewery Godspeed. The burger was one of the best I've ever had in leslieville and cooked perfectly! Our servery Jeremy was very knowledgeable about the menu and the beer in house. We can't wait to go again! Thanks for a great dining experience both back and front of house!

Rather disappointed on our first and last visit here. Four of us had brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The decor is nice and the staff were pleasant. We ordered the eggs benny at $17.00 and they were as plain as can be. The hollandaise was not noticeable and the English muffins must have been Wonder bread. One person ordered the scrambled eggs and they looked over-processed and unappetizing. Two of us ordered Bloody Caesars at $13.00 each and they came in small glasses and tasted not good. Will not be returning here.Response to owners response: When you're in a group dining situation, it's awkward to make a fuss over your meal; and nobody wants to wait for their meal while everyone else is eating or letting theirs get cold while waiting for yours to arrive. I shouldn't have to voice my displeasure. You should get it right the first time. Your bar and kitchen should prepare better food and serve better drinks.

I really wanted to like this place. I've heard such great things! I ordered off the winterlicious menu and maybe that was my mistake. I got the onion and brisket soup to start, elk cheek for the main and the ice cream bar for dessert. The soup was good, but it didn't have any brisket in it! That was a mis-leading menu item. The elk cheek was all gristle and tasted bland. I had to chew it forever to get through the gristle and eventually I left it on the plate with a couple bites left. It was served with a sad looking cabbage leaf and dried out parsnips. I was mega let-down. I guess if you go here, order off the regular menu and focus on menu items they do well.

On of the best burgers in town. Always a go-to for my family and friends.

Food was great and a good portion. Service was questionable - not sure if this one server was in a bad mood but, they acted aggressive and rude to my friend and I, crumpling up receipts in front of us, grabbing my card out of my hand, slamming the machine in front of us. Just felt very uneasy and uncomfortable with this person who was probably judging us for asking to change something on our receipt. Other servers were kind that helped us earlier.

My husband and I came here for brunch, and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is warm and inviting, and even smells like a wood fire. The waitstaff were all friendly and attentive. Our server suggested we start off with their scone of the week, which was dark chocolate and cinnamon. It was delicious with a crunchy sugar top, and the addition of whipped cream and peach preserves made it even tastier! We ended up getting the shared brunch plate which was a delight of scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, sausage, thick cut bacon, grilled tomatoes, and sauteed mushrooms, accompanied by some of the best toast I've ever had (no joke, do not sleep on the toast). We are big eaters, and we were absolutely stuffed by the end! This experience has made me want to come for dinner in the future!
