Mama Restaurant Hungarian

I always walk by this place but only today did I decide to finaly go there . I got charged 15$ with taxes for this plate in the picture. A coupe noodles and a bit of stew . Never going back. Food is fine but I don't take kindly to being screwed out of 15$ for this type of plate. Just walk up the street to grillades dans Silva and they give you grilled chicken with fries and salad for 10$ wow.

After I called at 5.30 PM on a Thursday(14.06) and spoke to the owner if they are open, I was informed that they are till 8 P.M. Went with a group, arrived at 6.45 PM and found the door closed and a note posted "SOLD OUT"That was the second time that they misinformed me: on a previous occasion on a Tuesday lunch time I called to find out if they have a free table, the person who answered the phone informed me that they are closed, their regular day off is Monday.I love Hungarian food but after those experiences I will never go there again. Unparalleled customer service; extremely friendly and considerate staff. The pork dish I ordered was extremely tender, my glass of water was always full without asking for a refill, and traditional hungarian music was played. Great variety of hungarian dishes to choose from, including desserts. Will definitely going back!

Best hungarian food

Very delicious, authentic Hungarian home cooking. The lángos is one of the best I've ever had in my life. The printed menu is not accurate, ask for their menu in person. Great palacsinta selection, authentic nokedli and gulyás (gulash) soup.

Went there with my mom and sisters; generous quantities of homemade food; the rolled pork roast with vegetables and potatoes were very good as was the stacked pancake dessert. Liked the sweet dishes more than the savoury (not hot enough and not salted enough). Will go back since they were only opened for a little while so I am sure there have been improvements because we were served by owner and she was so helpful explaining the dishes and making recommendations. Not fancy but a nice place,

Went here for the first time to try the famous Hungarian Chimney ice cream cones. The cones are freshly baked when you order and are practically a work of art so expect some waiting time. These are special cones, great to impress a first date, and will satisfy even the most insatiable sweet tooth. Definitely a must-try!The place appeared very clean. The owners care about customer input by the looks of the comment wall in the restaurant. Was nice to hear Hungarian being spoken. On a Saturday, I was able to find easy free parking nearby on Queen Mary despite all the parking meters.

The food was great and the place was very clean. I hope this place really does well because I want to come back here many more times!
