Mack's Barge

Sorry to say very disappointed in the quality as well as the quantity of our meals. The service was poor, as well. Our server focused more on taking care of her large, personal family that was eating on the deck. We had to wait for everything except drinks. When addressed with the manager, he didn't say a word. He just looked at us and nodded. Food and service is so much more important than a view. Won't return.

Looking at this building from the outside is not very appealing, but on the inside, it is clean, spacious, and has a nice view of the water. The food was delicious, we ordered a variety of things that are very far apart in tastes and concepts, Chicken and waffles, bacon wrapped meatloaf, and a crabcake burger, bacon wrapped shrimp with bbq sauce and Irish pork rolls with bbq and Alabama white sauce, and bacon mac and cheese. I honestly can't say that I didn't thoroughly enjoy all of them. They also have tons of specials (drink and food), and 15% off for military.

The atmosphere is fantastic! The food, which features Southern and Cajun flair, is absolutely delicious. I recommend the salad with the house vinaigrette, the crab cakes, the Cajun pasta, the jambalaya and the sweet potato fries! They have a good selection of craft beer, as well. Our favorite waiter, James, makes it feel like home.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Mack's Barge after ODU women's Field Hockey win over Temple.

Good food good atmosphere. Owner is always walking around interacting with the customers making sure food and drinks are good

Absolutely horrendous. Food was horirbe. I didn't taste ANYTHING good. How does this place have 4 stars?

This is a pretty nice place off of Colley Ave. I have been here a couple times and always get the fish taco's. The staff is always friendly and attentive as well. It's a nice local spot.

AWESOME fire pits out back. Ping ping table and FooZ ball table out back. Grreat food, drinks, and good music. Check out this KEG URINAL IN THE MENS BATH ROOM. I have NEVER EVER SEEN ONE OF THWSE IN MY LIFE.

I have dined at Mack's numerous times. At first, it was quality food and service. Now, its just a fancy looking place with a nice deck and poor quality service. I ordered raw oysters that were served on a tray with no ice. I have ordered twice with friends and received my order after they finished their meal or it was settled as a "to-go" order. I'm torn though. This fine restaurant needs consistency. With other restaurants closed from fraud, we need this barge to stay afloat. 2

Went here for a command function and the food was okay. I was trying to be safe and ordered wings and they were salty. A coworker's meal was given to someone else and they gave her the wrong meal and instead of righting the wrong another meal had to be purchased for her.

I ordered a salad with a grilled chicken breast 13 dollars what I got was some old iceberg lettuce which some was brown, wilted cucumbers some diced tomatoes a smidge of almonds a few strips of chicken definitely not grilled . Also ordered fried green tomatoes 8 dollars what I got was four slices of breaded green tomatoes w some sauce and barely any goat cheese totally lame. Will NOT eat here again or recommend .

Friendly staff, cheap beer on tap with some lovely food choices. Sit on the back porch over the water and watch the ducks play and the sun as it sets. Quiet, softly lit, with music while you socialize. Very nice.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean bright atmosphere. seafood was fresh but breading was far too heavy and covered the delicate flavors. Crab cakes had to much filling. Prices reasonable Unique and tasty nachos with freshly made potato chips!

Tiffany was a wonderful server, and very helpful as well as friendly. Also, the Atlantic salmon that she recommended was splendid and filling. Would definitely recommend this location to others if you are looking for good seafood and service
