The overall science theme of the bar is really cool. One of my favorite parts is their Spinal Tap, where all their taps are designed to look like a spinal column. Their mixed drinks are also really good, and they are good at making drinks off menu as well. The prices are great overall, and another added benefit is Cantina has their kitchen there temporarily until they finish their renovations. Definitely a fun bar to stop by and get a drink.

Phenomenal place with exceptional staff, food, and drinks. Very friendly and inviting. Perfect place to get some studying done and hangout with friends.

Best bar in Birmingham by far Change themes every week. Love shark week. Was dope and women’s history too. Best place to come.

It is a great bar in Pepper Place. The owner is super nice and makes an effort to talk to everyone who comes in. I had the signature cocktail (basically a spiked Arnold Palmer, I believe?) and it was great! Eric is a great bartender. Great experience :)

This is a pretty neat place. The bartenders were awesome. Drinks are good and the food was great. The green chile cheeseburger was great and the Frito pie was great also. Will definitely be back.

Environment is great! Need to work on some basic cocktails, but otherwise a really good experience.

Easily my favorite place to visit in Birmingham. Owners Tim and Riley really add to the environment there. Not only do they offer some unique drinks, they also have some amazing food.I noticed someone mentioning the kitchen closing down at 5.. That is no longer the case! The kitchen is now open until 9pm.

Bartenders seem woefully under trained. If ordering any cocktail that isn't one of the 3 on the menu be prepared for "we don't have that" or them to make it wrong. They have a decor of a intellectual upscale bar with a science theme. However the staff isn't up to standards of what they are trying to pull off. Won't be back.

Where do I start. Not only are the drinks phenomenal, but the staff/owners are even better. We have been multiple times and every single time we come in we are greeted as if we are family. We have been to every bar in Birmingham and the Lumbar greatly tops every single one. Tim and Rylie genuinely consider what their customers wants/need are and alter how their business runs to that, and that is EXTREMELY rare. I absolutely love this place and consider it a second home and family. Would 11/10 recommend to anyone.

Nice laid back place

Great atmosphere for casual drinks and bar food. Good afternoon spot. Private table for group lunches that can accommodate food and drinks.
