Great place to interact with playful otters. The Kyoto location has a better layout than the one in Osaka but lacks the locker facilities. On our visit several of the otters were happily running around causing trouble, without much prompting from the staff. You can stroke the otters and feed them.

Amazing experience! It’s 1,500 yen/person for an hour and you can touch and play with the otters and take all the pictures and videos you want. Staff is very friendly and nice. Be sure to get there at least an hour before closing. It’s on the second floor of the building. We found it by a small sign out front with an otter picture on it. Just go down a small hallway to the elevator and it’s to the right when you get off on the second floor.

Otteeeeers! ðŸ˜I mean, this place is the best! Try it when it’s not too busy, maybe right after they open. You and the other customers can feed and pet 2 otters, who run around, play with whatever they can reach and take the food from your hand. There are more otters behind a glass wall, I suppose they aren’t out becasue 2 of them runnig around excitedly is quite enough. It is a small and popular place, so don’t expect to have a one-on-one experience with an otter, but defietly worth the admission fee. I hope to have the chance to come back again.

We had an amazing experience at this animal cafe. We got to feed and play with twin sister otters, who are not shy at all when they want something. These otters are the owners kids and you can see how much she cares for and loves them. A must if you are in Kyoto and love otters!

So much fun! The otters are adorable. The owners are incredibly sweet. I might recommend going earlier in the day as these little babies were a bit tired by the time of our appointment at 4:30.

The otters are really cute and so playful. They are so full of energy. When we came they had one otter, Coco outside on a leash to interact with people. There were 2 more behind the glass and 1 swimming in the water. There were also 2 babies in a small cage. We played with coco for about 20 minutes and they brought out the babies but inside the cage because they are young and may bite. They are so cute and I wish I could bring one home.

An amazing experience! All the otter's are really well taken care of and they're super playful. You might get there when it's nap time for them but don't worry! They're not down for long and once they're in a deeper sleep you can run their ears which ya can't do while they're running about.

This place was so much fun I loved it! The staff was so nice, the otters were well cared for, the price was reasonable (1500 yen for an hour), and they give you a bottled drink that you select. The otters were adorable and I loved seeing the staff interact with them, taking a picture with the otters was adorable too. Great thing to do while in Kyoto!

I just gave it a shot and I am glad I did. They really care for their otters and make sure they have rest. The atmosphere was very happy and a beautiful experience. The owner was very pleasent to talk to and gave me a calendar. Made the stay very special. They really took care of them and there were no signs of stress from the otters because they were are so well taken care of.

Enjoyed the experience and the otters seem to be well cared. Fee is 1,500 yen per hours, and despite this place is called otter cafe, it is actually an open area without the coffee. I think they have another location in Osaka, and in Kyoto, they are the first. Here's just few tips before you go. Definitely go during none peak hours (before 1pm ideally). I was there around 1pm when there weren't anyone there, but from 1:30pm and onward, people start coming on, and that kinda ruin the whole otter interaction experience. There are I think 5 or 6 otters, can't remember. But only 2 of them are allowed to interact with people, the rest are separated by a window door, you can watch them through the windows. Anyway, would recommend if you never seen an otter(s) before.
