I would categorize this restaurant as comfort Italian. Huge portions and good tasting food. I think I had leftovers to eat for another 2 days. If you are looking for a fancy place this is not it, but if you are looking for pasta dishes that hit the spot this may be a good spot for you to try.

Family style Italian on north end. Close to TD and away from main drag.

When in the North End, relax, come hungry, leave full and happy! If possible come a bit before the rush and enjoy the transition from quiet to robust! Pleasant service, full portions, hot and delicious food! Service is good, not superior, ambience is North End! Enjoy your respit, enjoy your meal!

This place it wonderful! The service is lovely, the atmosphere is welcoming, and you get your money's worth. This is pretty much quintessential Italian comfort food. I'll be back next time I'm in Boston for sure.

I have lived in the north end and tried many restaurants this one by far is the best. This is my number one choice because the food is excellent every time. The fried mozzarella is the best I have had, the Cesar salad crispy and just enough dressing, the chicken Francesse has just the right amount of lemon taste, the shrimp scampi is perfect. The bread unfortunately is way too good, I always eat too much of it. Every meal I have had here is fantastic. The service is simply amazing, always on the ball. Lo contes is a hidden gem on Salem street. Everyone I have taken here loves it.

Delicious bruschetta. Main entrees were typical Italian comfort food. Not mind blowing but a fine choice.

Fantastic alternative to La Famiglia Giorgio’s. Authentic dishes that are well prepared, delicious, and ridiculously well apportioned. Friendly, attentive service and reasonable prices. Get the rice ball appetizer if they’re offering it.-1 star because our Caesar salad wasn’t the freshest.

Nice people, good service. Enjoyed the seafood risotto but others from my group didn’t love their dishes. I’d rate as standard decent north end spot. What you see is what you get.

A nice little Italian place with traditional fare. Nothing really creative but good basic cooking. Service was very good and the owner is always around.

Been coming here for over 25 year. Consistent food and service. Veal, seafood and the Caesar salad. Have referred this restaurant to family and friends and nothing but good reviews. A must try for anyone who loves Italian.

Questions & Answers

You can always call and ask they're the best restaurant in the North End in my opinion and I've eaten that quite a few places out there

There is no valet parking but just when you come down the street if you take a left before the restaurant about a hundred yards down the road on the left there is a outdoor parking lot that cost about $15 for the day you can't beat the price for downtown Boston and you cannot beat the food at lo Conte's take it from someone who has been going there for 20 years and I (without sounding too cocky) have a very refined palate... and please don't be a typical spaghetti or chicken parmesan eater when you go there go for a dish Seafood veal chicken whatever but don't go with a chicken parmesan or something typical even though those are delicious there as well

LoCpmtes is a great place for a group like this. Call and ask to speak to Carla - she will take good care of you. The food is delicious, and reasonable. Call or text Carla at 617-759-0488. Have fun!
