One of the best steak I had in New York. The sauce is everything! They don’t have butter for the bread for a reason I don’t understand but there’s enough sauce to cover your bread. The best part is the second meat and fries service! Service is excellent.

Interesting experience with good taste. Though if you do not like mustard then you should not go. Otherwise, everyone gets the same salad, with mustard sauce and gets to pick the heat of the meat (blue, raw, medium, done). There is also a small but good selection of wine. The steak comes with pretty good fries and think sliced, again in a mustard sauce. Before you finish you get offered more. Since it is free this is a really good option if you're hungry. After the main dish comes the dessert. The profiteroles are incredible! The setting is somewhat between restaurant and dinner with cheap paper over the table cloth. In any event given the price nothing to regret but rather to enjoy.

My hubby and I read alot of the reviews before coming here. The general consensus sounds like some people like it and some people don't. Here's the biggest take anyway, the ONLY SERVE ONE MAIN DISH, STEAK AND FRIES. I was honestly impressed by this place. I would give it 6 stars if I could. The wine was wonderful. THE STEAK AND FRIES WERE INCREDIBLE. They also give you seconds! Go here! It's awesome!

It didn't exceed my expectations but it was still worth going. I've heard this place is really famous and a must go in Paris. So we decided to go to the New York City location. We went pretty early for dinner so not that many people were there. Right when we sat down they asked us how we wanted our steaks cooked, and then they brought us an amazing salad followed by our steak and fries.I've had better steak and fries before, but I liked the concept of this one that they would keep one third of your food for later so they could keep it warm for you.

A piece of Paris in the Big Apple. In an area where food is pricey, Le Relais is a welcome addition. As you probably already know, they only serve one thing here - steak frites with their famous green sauce. You can get it cooked either medium rare, or as I prefer it, blue. You actually get two "servings" which is great. I highly recommend also saving room for dessert. They have an extensive and lovely dessert menu. I especially like the profiteroles as well as the coffee ice cream options.

Absolutely delicious! The best steak ever! Their French fries is also great! The sauce is the best part of the food! I tried once in Paris and then I found out that there is one in NYC as well! If you are visiting NYC, make sure to have lunch or dinner there! The price is high but reasonable!

Delicious steak. My medium steak was done perfectly (on the medium-rare side being a French restaurant)and the fries were great too. I don’t think they were very impressed when I asked for ketchup! But that’s ok. I still crave this steak once in a while... I’d been to the London branch so I knew this would be great.

Well prepared. Great meal. Steak is rib eye. Crunchy fries. Save room for dessert. I feel like I'm back on Paris. Tasty salad with vinegerette dressing with hint of mustard. They don't have ketchup or butter, so bring your own

I have always wanted to try Le Relais de Venise! We were there for a later lunch, so we didn't have to wait which was nice. The food and service were great! I actually loved not having to pick from a menu because I am indecisive. Overall, great experience!

This place rubbed me the wrong way based off my experience. The only thing to eat which is the salad, steak and fries were all good for the price that was paid. The sauce that goes over the steak is okay, definitely can do without it. My biggest problem was the hair in my fries and fly in my water, the service was okay could have been a tad better.

This place runs like a factory. You walk in, they sit you. You have one choice to make: rare, medium or well done; there are no in-betweens. Okay, you have a second choice: wine, or no wine. We chose wine (of course). In 2 minutes you are served a simple salad - fresh, no frills. In 10 minutes, a plate of steak frites arrives as you ordered it. It tastes as a New York strip should, and doused in a buttery mushroom sauce that has a hint of some tartness. The shoestring fries are as they should be - crispy. Your only condiments are salt, pepper and mustard. As you finish what's on your plate, the servers come around for another one-third serving of steak and more fries. You pay ~$50 for the entire meal, full and satisfied. And then you head back to work (we didn't because we had the day off, but you could).

Walked by hundreds of times and finally stopped by when a friend from out of town suggested. They only have one entree on the menu so it was nice not having to decide. At most you pick how well you like your steak. The don't offer in-between temps so no medium rare. I got the medium and I tried someone else's rare and rare is the way to go. It was a rather small portion and not sure if this is standard but they came around later offering a bit more, maybe a half portion. The fries were plentiful and the sauce was great for dipping. It's hard to say whether it was worth it, at the time I said yes but now I'm not so sure. For having only one entree the dessert menu was extensive. Overall I enjoyed the experience but since they're pumping out the steak and fries at mass quantity charging a little less would have made sense.

First time going here and a lady from the other table spilled my glass of water and white wine. The server was kind enough to replace my wine glass. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The dessert that I had was very good! The only concern I have is that the tables are too small because I cant push my boss (who's in a wheelchair) closer to the table.

Questions & Answers

They don't have reservation first come first served

No you don't have to.

I took a group and the vegetarian option was a cheese plate , double portion of salad (lucky), and fries for the same price.

No. They only serve a starter salad, steak, fries, wine, and desert. Literally nothing else.

As the others have said, no, it's not BYOB. They do have their own wine list.

The menu is prefix at 35 dollars, add 10 for the dessert

It is a sirloin cut. I am not sure exactly but I would guess about 8oz ish. You do however get unlimited fries.
