I grew up with this place being my definition of great Mexican food, and it still holds true decades later. The chili verde is unlike any other. Not the usual tart tomatillo flavors, a must try (smothered burrito). Second, I recommend enchiladas. The sauce is a rich, complex dark red sauce, very unique!

This is just about the only Mexican restaurant I go to. I have had bad experiences elsewhere. Here they have fast friendly service, speak English that, I, an English only speaker, can understand. And their food is excellent. They have a loyal customer here!

Best New Mexico green chilè and Chilè Colorado (Red chilè) you can get in Salty city. This is one of my family's fav spots to go when we want some of those good thick homemade flour tortillas like Mom makes with New Mexico Green Chilè. They serve a Pork rib platter my husband just loves! A piece of my culture right here in Utah, they even serve sopapillas. New Mexico cuisine to take you back. Now they just need to have some biscochitos and cafè!

FANTASTIC to once again have great, no "GREAT" MEXICAN FOOD again .. .. thank goodness I found their new home after being at the 3600 South State Street for so long .... THEIR NEW HOME NOW.About 3200 South State Street (East side);just north of the CENTURY THEATRE.

This place was way to find. Good parking and the place had alot of tables for all size groups. Then you get there the tables already has chips and salsa on it; and, they were really good. The salsa was a little different, more like hot sauce style, less chunky. We ordered the wet chicken burrito. It was huge, about 10-12" long and 4-5" round, and came surrounded by beans and litres of cheese on top. It's was really good but the chicken was a bit dry, but still tasty. Will have to come back again, because I hear the fajitas were really good too.

La Puente has had a location on South Salt Lake for like 35 + years that I know of... - the time when they're building had burned. Awesome food awesome awesome food. Nice people and the hot sauce is always delicious. Ground beef smothered burrito with cheese and onions is a classic. Sometimes the prices are erratic 1 week high one week low for the same item but it is what it is and it's La Puente so it's worth it

La Puente is consistently good. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. It seems like they might be making their portions bigger lately. Between the smothered burritos, enchiladas and nachos, everything is very good.

Hands down the BEST authentic Mexican in the western part of the US. There enchilada sauce is superb and they should sell it in grocery stores!!!

La Puente has a dish I love that I have never found anywhere else. Pork Ribs smothered with an excellent Mexican sauce. I love them. That is the main reason I go here if I can squeeze it in while I am in town.
